Your post just made me cry. All my tax money spent on education (yours) wasted...absolutely wasted.

I can normally go quite awhile on these threads without getting my dander up. This post crossed the line. El Cid was only trying to explain what he thinks. I've got a degree and love astronomy and chemistry. But guess what? I'm still a Creationist!

Why can't God have done these things? What can't evolution be a part of His Designs? Open your mind up a little more.

Yes, Evolution can be a part of his design. Creationism can't. As an aside, what do you love about Chemistry?

Re 49

Thanks for the support EarthBound.
I have degrees in Electrical Engineering and Material Science and have been working on semiconductors for the past 30 years; but if believing that the Bible is the unvarnished Truth means being cast amongst the 'foolish' -- then I am more than happy to be cast amongst the 'foolish'... And I say that as someone who rejected the Bible as mythology for the greater part of his life.
You're not going to believe the Word of God unless the Spirit draws you; and if you don't believe the Word -- you'll go along with 'consensus science'. Its easier to go through the broad and wide gate...

I'm a Christian and send my kids to a Christian school. I'm also a scientist and find creationism science to be pure bunk. I find this entire debate depressing.

Creationism vs Natural Selection is Copernicus vs Ptomelic astronomy all over again.

I don't understand why some Christians feel so threatened by current scientific theories of cosmology and natural selection. Christianity did not collapse when the scientific world discovered that earth is not the center of the universe. Why are creationists so fragile in their faith?

Christian centers of higher education will never make an impact on society unless they reconcile genesis with modern science. Their credibility will remain in tatters until then.

Too bad a liberal arts degree doesn't let you see how a love of astronomy and chemistry is incompatible with creationism, especially a YEC view. You ahve to be completely irrational to beleive that.
