Suspected Stolen Plane (DC-9) Still in Milwaukee (reportedly heading to Russia)

MILWAUKEE - An aircraft reportedly heading to Russia was forced to land in Milwaukee after being reported stolen. The aircraft remains grounded at Mitchell International Airport after a federal injunction.

The DC-9 aircraft left Fort Worth,Texas, Saturday morning. It was heading to Russia with a stopover in Newfoundland, Canada when military aircraft had to escort it to the ground Saturday around 1 p.m.

The plane was reported stolen by Peter Delisa of New Jersey, reportedly in the process of selling the plane to a company out of Russia called Siviera. Delisa claims the plane was taken before the sale was finalized, so he called the FAA.

Early reports and an FBI confirmation that the plane was off course were incorrect.

TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Jonathan Vigliiotti has been told that a judge signed an injunction Monday morning grounding the plane in Milwaukee until the ownership issue has been settled. An attorney, whose name is registered as the owner of the plane on the tail number and represents Siviera, said the hearing is going on in Maryland.

The FBI's Joint Terrorist Task Force determined there was no security threat once the plane landed in Milwaukee. Immigrant and Customs Enforcement agents were called to the scene to check the passengers on the plane. Officials say there were only six on board. Three were American; the other three were Russian nationals. All of their paperwork checked out.

No one on board the plane was taken into custody. But the FAA said the plane violated its rules of flight which required an aircraft of this size to have a specific number of crew on board. The plane was grounded, but the mystery remains why this aircraft was in the air to begin with.

Are you saying that Freepers should contact Delisa Aircraft?

I'd like to arrange a charter flight for all the Defeatocrats in the House and Senate, destination Tehran, if this DC-9 sale falls through, you think they'd go for it?

One way of course.

... was forced to land...

I wonder if it went anything like this.....

"Pilot of DC-9 flight# xxxx, this is Viper 06. There are three armed F-15's two miles off of you're six o clock. I now direct you to turn to a heading of 57 degrees, descend to FL 5,000, establish contact with and land at xxxxxxxx airport. You have 10 seconds to comply with this directive, and this clocks for you, Bud.

"10....9....8...."

Just curious.

Didn't know a DC-9 could make a Transatlantic.

Glad I wasn't onboard. Those things are a nightmare.

There was a great audio on the ‘net a while back of some NATO (Belgian?) jets intercepting an American airliner whose transponder had shut-off or something. I wish I could find it again.

Was the restraining order actually seen by the person responsible for bringing the plane down? Court records of the restraining order show it was not signed until hours AFTER the plane was grounded. Can anyone call up and report a plane stolen and have it brought down over a money dispute? It has been proven that the plane was in the hands of the registered owner so isn’t placing a false report like yelling fire in a theater? Isn’t that a federal offense? It seems that this has also cost an enormous amount of the taxpayers money for all those agencies to be called out on a weekend. How did the story get leaked to the press so fast? Is it a coincidence that the party involved in the money dispute is also
an NBC consultant?

This is the pilot of N871DP to Vipor 06. you must be stealth because we do not have visual. Are you flying under order of DeLisa commander of the Milwaukee stealth air squadron. Still no visual vipor 06. go back to sleep and dream of DeLisa air defense manuvers for some day when you grow up.

Part way would work. I’ve heard those DC-9s are notorious on fuel consumption. ;)

So long as the fuel runs out at 35000 feet.

Awwww c’mon pal, that is just too cruel!

My compassionate conservatism compells me to suggest that we compromise at say, 17,500 feet.

How ‘bout it? ;)

Now we just have to make that transition from 'magnanimous' to 'magnum-inous'.

At least when dealing with suspicious Imammys. (is that a crossdressing Imam with an Ipod? An 'Imammy'? ;)
