Ridgeway Clock Helps Martinsville Speedway Celebrate 60th Birthday The long tradition will continue late on the afternoon of April 1 when Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell awards the winner of the Goodys Cool Orange 500 the latest in a long line of grandfather clocks produced by Ridgeway Clocks. And the newest trophy clock, the Independence Grandfather Clock, is by far the biggest, most striking of all. The Independence Grandfather Clock is the only clock in the world that plays the American chimes of God Bless America and America the Beautiful, along with the traditional Westminster chime. The retail value of this numbered and limited edition is over $11,000. Of all drivers who have competed at Martinsville Speedway, seven-time NASCAR NEXTEL Cup champion Richard Petty has the most clocks with 12, winning his first in 1967. Jeff Gordon leads all current drivers with seven Ridgeway Clock grandfather clocks.

Speaking of Bristol. I think this thing is supposed to be active throughout the reconstruction.

I hope Martinsville is a better race than Bristol.
Don't know if it was personal boredom, the lack of competition, the new cars, or what -- but it is the first time I felt that way about a Bristol race.

I thought Bristol was a pretty good race although the cars were a little slower. Thank goodness there will be NO ESPN/ABC Busch Coverage this week!
I couldn't believe they totally blew off Carl Edwards winning back flip and a victory lane interview for.....golf. Reminds me of the days of wide world of sports where they would leave a race so we could watch ..golf or cliff diving or something.
I sent ESPN a scathing email about our displeasure with the Busch Nascar coverage.
