'So when they say, "If you don't agree with us on this issue, even if you're a fiscal conservative, you're not a conservative" that's rather arrogant of them. '

Actually, Rudy is not a fiscal conservative either. Its just empty words. His borrowing left his successor with a $4.5 billion budget deficit only eighteen months after Rudy sat on a $3 billion surplus. Then he added 25,000 employees to the city's payroll, many of them patronage hires, after promising to cut the work force as a candidate of fiscal conservatism. On the day he left office, the head count of city workers was the highest in history.

Do you actually think the Clinton marriage is "honorable", or are you just trying to be clever (and failing at that)?

I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

"Why do Rudy supporters keep saying that? We do not support her in any way and it is crazy for y'all to keep saying that. Is that the best you can do?"

It's a learned tactic, learned from Liberals who would rather attack the messenger because they can't attack the message.

When you don't have anything to stand on you'll do whatever is necessary in your mind to "win" the argument.

Unfortunately it doesn't win the argument, it simply makes people who use that tactic look weak minded and childish.

For all you Rudy haters out there - What if he gets the nomination?

Ya voting Democrat then?

BTW, a non vote IS a vote for the Democrats.

Exactly, RadioAstronomer. And Hillary Clinton (or Barack Obama) ends up as Commander-in-Chief of our sons and daughters in the military... {{shudder}}

"BTW, a non vote IS a vote for the Democrats."

No. A non vote is a choice NOT to vote for abortion.

With Fred Thompson on the horizon, Rudy is on the way out. It's just a matter of time.

You really are a foolish person. Perhaps you substitute in fierceness what you lack in understanding and intellectual discrimination. I also suspect that you find your own ignorance too distressing to acknowledge. That's why you project it onto others.

BTW, I have a Ph.D. from a large Midwestern university as well as other academic training and over 35 years of work experience, almost entirely in the private sector (professional and non-professional). You picked on the wrong junkyard dog, bubie.

You should go try to get your time and money back, because it was a waste otherwise, big guy. This is the big leageus, and you are still siting on the bench at some hicktown beer league softball game, hoping someone will share a sip of their bud light with you.

Most of those folks have left for that other site. They only come back here in coordinated attacks on conservatives.

One does not need to be evangelical to oppose Abortion (talk to Mormans and Catholics), or restrictions on the second Amendment..

I've said it before:

A vote for Rudy in the primary is a vote for Hitlery in the general election.

Fair enough. There are cultural conservatives who primarily focus on an overarching direction of society, religious conservatives that see the necessity to keep God in the forefront and not be a sinful society, and fiscal conservatives who see economic freedom & performance as primary. But the overlap is TREMENDOUS. For example, all three groups would likely be in favor of harsh punishment for rapists. All three would claim adherence to the literal meaning of the Constitution. All three would be in favor of lowered taxes. With that in mind, answer the following:

Which type of conservative advocates and implements strict gun controls? What kind advocates and implements "hate crimes" legislation? What type is willing to believe Algore's version of global warming? What kind of conservative thinks allowing illegal aliens to run rampant is a good idea? What kind consistently pushes the gay agenda? What kind would confiscate an acquitted man's property? What kind would claim that "freedom means authority"? What kind of conservative sues gun manufacturers? What type cannot see PBA as infantacide? What kind sues tobacco companies?

The answer is that NONE of the types of conservatives advocate any of the above. Meaning the Giuliani, despite being in favor of lower taxes, cutting red tape and fighting the WOT, is not a conservative.

And on top of that, EACH of the candidates in the GOP primary are in favor of low taxes, cutting red tape and fighting the WOT. And by golly, some are even more qulified to fight that WOT than Rudy.

The difference between Rudy and Hillary is that Rudy is Hillary without the estrogenal enforcement.
