WASHINGTON, March 27 / -- A national pro-family coalition, www.NotOurKids.com, is calling upon parents to keep their children home from school on April 18 -- to avoid GLSEN's homosexual "Day of Silence," in which students and some supportive faculty intentionally remain silent throughout the school day to protest alleged oppression of homosexuals.

www.NotOurKids.com is a coalition of pro-family groups who object to the disruptive political hijacking of America's classrooms by pro-homosexual advocates.

this is a pro-family group that is urging parents to simply keep their kids home on "gay day", april 18th. They are catching major flak from the gay community for this "homophobic" behaviour. I didn't know about them until now..
Nothing Gay should be in our schools. If they keep this up some day they will know oppression.
Keeping the kids home that day only serves to give credibility to this slease-bag bunch of perverts and their homosexual crap.
Parents: send your kids to school.
It would, at least, be quieter with fewer students. It's all about "silence" isn't it? I say plan a field trip to the Art Museum or Science Museum. Make it a day of bonding and learning for parents and their kids.
It would be fine if the homos would make every day a day of silence for their pathetically disordered kind.
Gosh, silly me, but I have to wonder why a parent would send a child to a school that celebrates "Gay Day".
I know this is wayyyyyy too radical for many a freeper, but I'm thinking that I wouldn't want my impressionable children taught by people who think Gay Day is a dandy idea. But that's just me.
Parents: send your kids to school.
Don't keep silent..!!!
Good thing Aids has a cure and it was found that homosexual behavior had nothing to do with the spread of that disease....
it's a NATIONAL day of silence so everyone can "feel their pain" at having to remain silent about their sexual orientation..it's not just one school..
Ok they put in a day of silence.
Why not on the same day do something to counter their silence.
How bout little jingle bells on the shoe laces.
Or a t-shirt with a mother and a fahter and a child
or
some other statement which shoes the zero contribution of homosexuals to society.
Those folks have lost it, makes me sick.
If only the gays would stay silent. The problem is nowadays they won't STFU.
April 18.
Interesting. One day before our ancestors shot the hell out of British troops outside Boston at Concord, over 230 years ago. Any coincidence?
***If only the gays would stay silent. The problem is nowadays they won't STFU.***
How to prevent the spread of AIDS. Sit on your butt and keep your mouth shut.
If my kids' schools try to pull this crap--I'm SENDING them to school and telling them to talk ALL day, especially my middle schooler. He can talk the leg off a dog.
I just showed this to my boys and their friends, yes their school is on the list but they didn't know anything about it. They were horrified, they are going to counter it. Right now they are coming up with t-shirt slogans.
Let's see. Twelve Years of Public School, twelve Gay Days and the next thing you know All the Kids will be Gay!!!!!
The Kids just won't be able to Overcome the Power of Gay Day!!
/sarcasm
I think it is a good idea. A better idea is to remove them from the public school system altogether.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It is sickening to me.
One good thing about keeping kids home away from homos is that the school will lose money. If enough kids cause the school to lose lots of money, perhaps the school will reconsider assisting pervert promotions.
I vote for keeping the sane kids home.
There is oppression. It is of Christians who hold a belief that conflicts with the PC-approved dogmas.
Why would any Freeper, or any other sane American for that matter, entrust the education of his or her children to a school which taught that sodomy was a heathy, righteous lifestyle?
The public school does not lose a single penny.
You still are roped into paying property taxes.
Until there is a way where the tax dollars follow the student, sadly, what you suggest will not help.
It just means the homosexual activists will achieve their desire of excluding normal people from society. IOW they will get to indoctrinate the majority which stay behind. Your kids who do not have "their papers" from a sanctioned indoctrination center will be excluded from access to the opportunities of society.
We see this now in the form of "no degree, no opportunity" regardless of the qualifications of the individual.
I agree
As long I am allowed to be in attendance during the indoctrination sessions
Good,,,Only 2 schools here in Bama',,we still have a chance, got to start Standin' sooner or later..! Down here in Opp we still have Prayer and say the Pledge,(and if you don't say it right ,you're told about it)was going to call the school tommorrow,as we've got grandbabies now at these schools, but we're not on the list, though I'll probably still check,,...We've got to Stand...It's sick,,And I commend your boys and their friends, though you might as well be prepared for a call,,I believe the whole State Of Alabama would be proud of these boys..
Are tuna tacos and hot dogs encouraged for the lunch menu?
My kid's school is part of the program.
He is going to school that day with a T-shirt that reads:
Send your kids to school and tell them to talk it up all damn day. Tell them to talk as much as they can and when the teacher asks them to be quiet and pay attention they should ignore and keep on a talkin'!!
Actually I think they need to sit on their mouths and keep their butts shut...
BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm pushing for a "century of silence." It flows off the tongue. Why stop at one day?
It's like the line in Shrek 2, "You have the right to remain silent, what you lack is the capacity."
Nice, and to keep everyone "happy" in PC world the dessert for April 18th, fudge brownies.
RD...alright, out of the pool.

Nope! Every student who has an unauthorized absence that day costs the school district money. Money is what they care about. Keeping your kids home will make a very big statement.
How about singing "Amazing Grace" in the halls?
We don't have this in my kid's school...we don't have Earth Day, President's Day or MLK Day either. You guessed it, my kids are home schooled.
Send your kids on Day of Truth, organized by Alliance Defense Fund. http://www.alliancedefensefund.org/main/default.aspx
No, it means that schools loose money by having straight kids miss a day at school.
Schools listen to money. If they loose money, then they are more keen to listen to straight parents.
"Let's see. Twelve Years of Public School, twelve Gay Days and the next thing you know All the Kids will be Gay!!!!!

/sarcasm"
You know perfectly well it's about getting the kids to sympathize with the gay rights movement whether they're homosexual or not.
No group should be using schools to advance their politics. If we're going this route, why not have a National Rifle Association Day in schools, a Democratic Party Day in schools, a Global Warming Day, a Libertarian Day...
mute homosexual peers and "allies" wearing stickers and passing out cards, which stated (in part):
"... My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today. What are you going to do to end the silence?"
The question should be, "What can I do to make the silence permanent!?"
So, their "right to privacy" is actually the complete antithesis of what they claim it to be. Shoving propaganda in the faces of our kids is hardly living your own life.
It's queer day. A gay day is one on which you are happy, not one on which you celebrate queerness and immorality. for those of you who object to the name Queer Day, call it Celebrating Immorality Day.
Actually, this is an incorrect statement. The state may still get the tax money, but the local school district doesn't get it's ADA money unless your child is there. I know, I work for a school district. If you want to get a school distict's attention, hit them in the pocket book. That means either a big dollar lawsuit, or keeping a lot of kids out of school. Either one will make them take notice.
I'll try later if you don't get it first!
"If you want to get a school distict's attention, hit them in the pocket book. That means either a big dollar lawsuit, or keeping a lot of kids out of school. Either one will make them take notice."
In that case, I would recommend doing both the lawsuit (make it a class action) and keeping the kids home that day.
