It all started with Kennedy's "lie after lie after lie" and the "war was concocted in Crawford for political purposes...

It went quickly downhill from there. What a disgrace. Bush said nothing. Cheney, one of the most useless VPs I can ever remember, said NOTHING, Hastert, one of the most useless and inept Speakers I've ever seen, said nothing.

Then came yellowcake and the Dem debates, where they lied about the GOP and Biush constantly. The GOP's retort???

I would have loved it if Fox had fought back by holding up a SF 180 form and daring Kerry to sign it then and there. Would've been beautiful... Hey, I can at least dream, can't I?

I went to look at the link you provided. It says that Kerry only authorized the release of his active duty records. All his troubles would have been in his reserve records which he did not release. I suspect he got a dishonorable discharge after his traitorous meeting with the North Vietnamese in Paris. I also suspect his medals were withdrawn and that's why he had to get them reissued during the Reagan years. Remember that people were asking why an 80's Sec/Navy had signed them?

I agree his activities were traitorous, but I don't buy the theory that he received a dishonorable discharge. I have gone into great detail and engaged in plenty of discussions on his honorable discharge from the Reserves and why it was dated Feb 18, 1978, which happens to be the exact date of my HD from the Navy. I won't go into it here.

To me, the record I want to see is his documentation for his first PH. There was never an after action report because there was no hostile fire and ADM Schachte, who was the CO on this training mission on the skimmer, clearly indicates that was the case and the minor wound was self-inflicted. The doctor who treated Kerry compared the piece of shrapnel dangling out of Kerry's arm as the equivlent of a thorn from a rose bush. Kerry's CO refused to put him for a PH. Yet Kerry received one after his CO left and he [Kerry] was transferred to another unit. I suspect that Kerry forged some documents to get the PH.

Kerry put in a request to get replacement medals not long after he was elected to the Senate. I believe he really did throw his medals away despite his denials and these were replacements. They [second set] were signed by Sec Lehman.

Kerry's war hero status was effectively punctured by the SBVFT who froze Kerry like a deer in the headlights for almost a month. His 4 1/2 months in Vietnam and phony medals were exposed like never before. Kerry had built his entire political career on being a war hero. He even had license plates with PH3. Ever since he has been trying to restore his phony record. The very fact that he would bring it up during a confirmation hearing shows what kind of mean, little punk he is. Kerry is also suing some of the Swifties and their supporters. It wouldn't surprise me if he has taken other vindictive actions with this just being the latest. Unfortunately, the MSM continues to use the term "swiftboating" in a negative sense. They have done a poor job of investigating the legitimate charges of the SBVFT, most of whom either served with Kerry or were in his chain of command. Kerry is a fraud.
