I'm for any holiday where I get paid for not working. How about one for Leif Erikson's birthday?

Well, give the kids enough federal holidays and they won't have to go to school at all. I'm sure they could think of a holiday for each day of the school year.

Students walk out of classrooms in solidarity with those who are urging they get another day out of school. Irony here is that most of the students in LA schools, or their parents, come from countries with no guaranteed free public education. So now they want to reduce the amount of education American taxpayers are providing them here.

The students also demanded that Wall Street give Cesar Chavez a picker-tape parade...

Yes, when I was in high school we were always having protests and walk-outs for political reasons, too. This usually meant that a chemistry test was scheduled and we were trying to wiggle out of taking it on a nice spring day. We never had walkouts in crummy weather.

The kids should be marked truant.

Somebody in the school systems had better start acting like adults and put a stop to these children and their childish demands.

Thanks for proving school is wasted on you. Stay out so that other students who value education will have somebody to wash their cars and flip their burgers in the future.
