3rd Annual SSgt. Matt Maupin - Glen Este H.S. Scholarship Run.
Location: Start at Glen Este H.S. Parking Lot. Ends at American Legion Post 72. Gold Start Chili and deserts included and will be served at the American Post legion.
A donation for a single $15 / Double $ 20. ALL proceeds to go to the Matt Maupin Scholarship fund. Last year this run raised over $5600. The goal is $10,000. Gold Star Chili available to those who cannot ride for $5 donation at the door. Music will be provided at the Legion.
What is Maupin's status?
Still classified as MIA.
I believe he is still MIA.
I have been lighting candles for him each week for quite a while. I'd love to do somthing more substantive, like doanting to a fund. If I press on the link provided here, the money seems to go to Free Republic (a worthy cause) but is FR collecting for the scholarship?
Also, if anyone knows where I and my family can send his parents some mail, I'd very much appreciate knowing. I think about this kid all the time.
