Well, that is the next step.

Just wait till it is "illegal" to not marry gays in a church. It will come to that, and the only question is what will happen the.

I wonder if this was one of the bishops that would shuffle around the gay priests to different communities.

If everyone on this thread equates gays with perversion, why not ask him to clean his house first. Just how many gays are there in the Catholic church anyway? Quite a lot.

Love this web site, hate how everybody swallows up the "right"'s lip service, hook line and sinker!

Pot calling the kettle black!

So you would support an effort by the Roman Catholic Church to purge homosexuals from the ranks of their clergy then? Great idea!

I don't know all the answers. I just look to folks who are supposedly our moral leaders and I don't see answers or moral action.

Homosexuals are everywhere here in MA - can they all be inclined to incest?

Probably the same number as the ones hanging out in your church, in the closet or not.

If I may, I do not believe that this is the claim but rather if you condone one "deviant" behavior because it is between consenting adults, why not others?

Myself, I never cared one way or the other about homosexuals I despise however the political activities they engage and the undermining of my values.

I believe that a "row" as it's used here is an English/Australian expression meaning a fight. (The article is from Perth, Australia.)

Yes, you're right - there is a lot of name-calling on this site, but the basic idea is that the gay rights movement is demanding radical change in all of society. Everybody has to change except for them so they'll be happy (they think). Social conservatives are not demanding such change; we're trying to stop untested social experiments from being launched. Gay marriage, after all, never existed before the present time, not even in ancient Greece.

Sodomy is not a healthy practice. That area of your plumbing eliminates waste from the body; it's not built for sex. Disease is easily spread through sodomy.

GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educator's Network) is hard at work in the schools trying to persuade young people that the homosexual life style is perfectly normal and healthy when it's actually less healthy than a heterosexual lifestyle, all things being equal. The gay rights movement is also skilled in public relations and marketing techniques. Do a Google search for The Overhauling of Straight America if you want to see a marketing manifesto. You can find it on a number of websites.

Not as many as in the public schools.

"Consider the statistics: In accordance with a requirement of President Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act, in 2002 the Department of Education carried out a study of sexual abuse in the school system.

Hofstra University researcher Charol Shakeshaft looked into the problem, and the first thing that came to her mind when Education Week reported on the study were the daily headlines about the Catholic Church.

“[T]hink the Catholic Church has a problem?” she said. “The physical sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests.”

So, in order to better protect children, did media outlets start hounding the worse menace of the school systems, with headlines about a “Nationwide Teacher Molestation Cover-up” and by asking “Are Ed Schools Producing Pedophiles?”

No, they didn’t. That treatment was reserved for the Catholic Church, while the greater problem in the schools was ignored altogether.

As the National Catholic Register’s reporter Wayne Laugesen points out, the federal report said 422,000 California public-school students would be victims before graduation — a number that dwarfs the state’s entire Catholic-school enrollment of 143,000.

Yet, during the first half of 2002, the 61 largest newspapers in California ran nearly 2,000 stories about sexual abuse in Catholic institutions, mostly concerning past allegations. During the same period, those newspapers ran four stories about the federal government’s discovery of the much larger — and ongoing — abuse scandal in public schools.

A writer for The New York Times lurked online at pedophile chat rooms, and reported this summer about the chilling way pedophiles convince themselves that children want to have sex with them and insinuate themselves into the lives of children.

The Times' Kurt Eichenwald explained that pedophiles often discuss their personal lives. They come from all walks of life, but they like to speak about how close their jobs take them to children. “The most frequent job mentioned, however, was schoolteacher,” he wrote. “A number of self-described teachers shared detailed observations about children in their classes, including events they considered sexual, like a second-grade boy holding his crotch during class.”

The media have left many with the impression that sexual abuse is a Catholic problem — as if Catholic beliefs and customs make sex abuse inevitable. Church teaching for its part is clear: Sexual abuse of minors is always wrong. A more likely culprit would be a non-religious ambivalence about the pedophilia, as seen, for instance, in the media’s refusal to broaden its scope to include teachers when considering the issue.

In 1992, the National Victim Center estimated that 29 percent of all forcible rapes in America were against children under age 11. More than a decade later, an estimated 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys are victims of unwanted sexual acts.

The 2002 Department of Education report estimated that from 6 percent to 10 percent of all students in public schools would be victims of abuse before graduation — a staggering statistic.

Yet, outside the Catholic Church, the reaction is increasingly accommodation instead of outrage.

The April 17, 2002, issue of USA Today featured an article titled “Sex Between Adults and Children” — a euphemistic way of referring to child molestation. Under the headline was a ballot-like box suggesting possible opinions one might hold on the subject: “always harmful, usually harmful, sometimes harmful, rarely harmful.” The newspaper’s answer: “Child’s age and maturity make for gray areas.”

"comparing a Bill that would grant rights to same-sex couples to allowing incest and pedophilia"

He's exactly right. Gay sex is the root, original cause of AIDS, which has cost millions of lives and billions of dollars. AIDS wouldn't exist if there had never been gay sex. Gays reproduce exactly nothing, no children. If gays are allowed to adopt children, it's the same as legalized child abuse, since the children are likely to become "fresh meat" and even if they don't, they will grow up to become adults who are mentally ill-prepared for a normal marriage relationship between a man and a woman, which is necessary for the propagation of the human race, thank you.

You might want to read "After the Ball" for the gay community's agenda.

"The term homophobic refers to fear of homosexuality. This term often is used by homosexual activists to end rational discussion of the issue by accusing their opponents of having an irrational fear. This is unjust. One can disagree with and be critical of a behavior without having a fear of it. When the charge of "homophobia" is made, it signifies that those making the accusation do not have reasoned responses to their critics, so they switch to portraying their critics as irrational rather than responding to their arguments.

While the Church does recognize homosexuality as disordered, this does not mean that the Church is uncompassionate to those who suffer from the disorder. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies . . . must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."3

The Catechism describes homosexual acts as "intrinsically disordered": "They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved."4

Homosexuals of both sexes remain fourteen times more likely to attempt suicide than heterosexuals47 and 3½ times more likely to commit suicide successfully.48 Thirty years ago, this propensity toward suicide was attributed to social rejection, but the numbers have remained largely stable since then despite far greater public acceptance than existed in 1973. Study after study shows that male and female homosexuals have much higher rates of interpersonal maladjustment, depression, conduct disorder, childhood abuse (both sexual and violent), domestic violence, alcohol or drug abuse, anxiety, and dependency on psychiatric care than heterosexuals.49 Life expectancy of homosexual men was only forty-eight years before the AIDS virus came on the scene, and it is now down to thirty-eight.50 Only 2 percent of homosexual men live past age sixty-five.51

Life expectancy of homosexual men was only forty-eight years before the AIDS virus came on the scene, and it is now down to thirty-eight.50 Only 2 percent of homosexual men live past age sixty-five.51

If homosexuals of either gender are finding satisfaction, why the search for sex with a disproportionately high number of strangers advocates of gay marriage such as New Republic editor Andrew Sullivan admit that for them, "fidelity" does not mean complete monogamy, but just somewhat restrained promiscuity.61 In other words, they admit that exclusiveness will not happen. And without exclusiveness, their "marriages" will have little meaning.
Remember, homosexual activity began "coming out of the closet" in 1973.

Just eight short years later, in 1981, we have the first reported cases of an "unknown" disease killing gay men. AIDS has arrived. Why do so many diseases target gay men? The body is not built for sodomy. "The anus opens into the rectum which is not as well suited for penile penetration as the female vagina is. Both the anus and rectum have rich blood supplies, and their walls, thinner than the walls of the vagina, are easily damaged. When penetration occurs, it's easier to tear blood vessels, which in turn increases the risk of acquiring or receiving an infection as penile skin and/or semen comes in contact with the partner's blood or semen." [5]

Another risk is caused by bacteria and other organisms present in feces; Entamoeba and Giardia can cause chronic diarrhea. Many will suffer from "gay bowel syndrome." Anal intercourse is "high risk behavior" because so many diseases can be spread from this misuse of the body, including HIV, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and a wide range of other sexually transmitted diseases.
J.R. Schoenle, Pharm.D. Johns Hopkins Hospital

“After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 1990s” by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen. This very popular book within the homosexual community.

1) The homosexual agenda can succeed by conversion of the average Americans emotions, mind, and will, through, a planned psychological attack in the form of propaganda to the nation via media (page 153);
2) “Propaganda relies more upon emotional manipulation that upon logic, since its goal is to bring about public change” (page 162);
11) Discourage anti-gay harassment by linking and calling all those that have opposing opinions to latent homosexuality (i.e., call people homophobic) (page 227)
28) “Vast majority” of homosexuals do not engage in compulsive high-risk sex (page 49)
30) All homosexually suicides are based entirely on societal rejection (page xv)
51) The media campaign will reach straights on an emotional level, casting gays as society’s victims and inviting straights to be their protectors (page 187);"

"If everyone on this thread equates gays with perversion"

Uh...it is a perversion, an aberration of normal human sexuality. Has always been seen as that throughout recorded history, except for the last few decades, which are also an aberration.
