I’m waiting for the transporter myself. Now, if a transporter operates (as I understand it) by obliterating an object and creating it's exact duplicate through conversion of energy to matter (the same principle as a food replicator, of course), isn't the person standing on the sending transporter pad obliterated as part of this process?
If I am obliterated, will I care that an exact replica of myself is created at some other location simultaneously?
Maybe I'm over-thinking this thing...
