NEW HAVEN — Three Yale University students are charged with burning an American flag hanging from the porch of a Chapel Street home early Tuesday in the Wooster Square neighborhood.
When detained by police a few blocks away, they allegedly acknowledged it was a "dumb thing to do," according to a police report on the incident.
Hyder Akbar Said, 23, Nikolaos Angelopoulos, 19, and Farhad Anklesaria, also 19, were arrested on a range of charges including two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree arson, breach of peace, and conspiracy to commit second-degree arson.
Police listed Hyder’s last name as Akbar Said, while Yale has him listed as just Hyder Akbar.
The three students spent the night in jail and appeared dazed at their arraignment Tuesday morning when they entered Superior Court in leg irons and handcuffs. Bail was kept at $25,000 for Angelopoulos and Akbar, but was reduced to $15,000 for Anklesaria. They remained jailed Tuesday night.

I would guess those charges, should make then sit up and take notice...be interesting to see how they many charges stick....none is my guess...
It’s not a “symbolic speach act” when you burn a flag that belongs to somebody else and risk burning a building down.
Apart from the question of whether it should be right to burn the American flag in the first place.
I believe they’re in a world of hurt with those charges, the flag was attached to a residence. Arson of a dwelling is very serious, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them do time for it.
Also, it’s pretty hard to get admitted into Yale. Why are they admitting all these questionable foreign students, including that terrorist last year?

They should move to a country whose flag they can respect.

No kidding. Ours is the only country where burning its flag has been determined by unelected black robes to be a basic, God given, fundamental right.

I only wish that someone would come and attempt to light fire to the flag on dislay at my house. That way we could send up another second amendment test case. How dumb does one have to be to miss that you must at least provide YOUR flag for the usual hate America festivities.

The purpose of your posting; that collectively Greeks are Anti American. Is the same as those who post “Canadian’s Hate Americans” "Britians hate Americans" and so forth. It is also the same as Posts that insult or degrade American Allies ostensibly made by “Americans”.
In each case such broad based public “announcements” support the efforts of fifth columnists trying to sow the seeds of discontent and unity between the Allies in the fight against Islamofacisim. Whether you are one or not.
Lincoln placed such people incommunicado until the war was resolved. Sadly our current President lacks such resolve.
One can only hope such statements were made without discernment of their potential effect without evil intent.
