"By your definition using a baby as a human shield to stop a bullet would be self defense too."

"Only if the baby was the one toting the gun."

====================

There is only one gun and you must fight the baby for it, and he/she isn't screwing around so you better call for back up.

I am much more important than my children and I must survive at all cost by hiring mercinaries to kill them, but thankfully there are professionals available who are so cold blooded they have already killed 50,000,000 babies who were not even armed, they simply had a price on their head.

The only time I've ever heard the word "harpy" other than here is on the television series "Rome", referring to an attractive, sexually manipulative woman.

Then maybe you should start to read more. TV stunts your ability to understand the English language.

I'm not exactly a senior citizen. LOL

I gathered that. That's how I know you get your information from tv.

You're evidently unaccustomed to being challenged on your use of someone's age and gender to belittle them. Whatever.

Not really. You are not the first girl I have proved wrong when debating the use of words.

Har·py      /ˈhɑrpi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hahr-pee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun, plural -pies.
1. Classical Mythology. a ravenous, filthy monster having a woman's head and a bird's body.
2. (lowercase) a scolding, nagging, bad-tempered woman; shrew.
3. (lowercase) a greedy, predatory person.

[Origin: < L Harpȳia, sing. of Harpȳiae < Gk Hárpȳiai (pl.), lit., snatchers, akin to harpázein to snatch away]

harp·y·like, adjective

Okay, I get it. Your thing is condescension to women in general. I figured that was the case when I first saw your posts. Somehow I doubt you have any cartoons ridiculing male Bush supporters in your arsenal.

I’m done here.

Dear Fellow Freepers,

There was a dust up here during the past few days that was, in retrospect, unfortunate. As I participated, I wish to extend my apologies to all Freepers. This is the Easter season. My Lord washed the feet of His fellow Apostles in service to them to teach, by example, humility. Therefore, again, I apologize any offense I may have given. I am very grateful for FreeRepublic and I wish good fellowship to one and all. A very blessed and happy Easter to my fellow Freepers. V’s wife.

I beg to differ!! Every four years at the Democrats Convention when anyone says from the stage that they will fight so women have the “right to choose”, the whole place stands and erupts and gives the loudest applause!!! I can only understand that to mean they are celebrating the murder of innocent babies. Giulianni is no different.

Um, actually, I'm leaving that to each mother. She may have other children who need her, so in that case, she may elect to abort if her life is at stake. I applaud the courage and unselfishness of those mothers who would rather give their lives so that their unborn child can live. But other mothers may be torn between that child and the ones she already has.

Let me be clear, when the mother's life is medically at stake is the ONLY time I believe abortion should be legally available.

Manhattanites and many Brooklynites are Foppish, although not as bad as Lawn Guylanders.

The guidos with their baseball bats (only cavemen and retards use clubs as weapons) and the BedStuy Clockers (I am showing my age with my terminology), wouldn't last a minute in a low rent bar in Tacoma, let alone Fort Collins or West Memphis.

There once were tough men in the city, but they departed en masse sometime after WWII. Now all we have left are dime store thugs and foppish metrosexuals in the five boroughs. :-(
