The 11-Year Old Homophobe by: Don Irvine, April 04, 2007
An 11-year old boy in England was subjected to a homophobic crime investigation by the police because he called a classmate "gay" in an e-mail.
The parents of the boy who received the message complained to the police in Cheshire who then opened an investigation and sent two policemen to visit the alleged homophobe at his home.
When the parents of the 11-year old boy complained that the police were being heavy handed they told the father that they considered it a very serious matter.
The boy told his parents that he didn't intend to be homophobic, and he had used the word "gay" instead of "stupid" which apparently the parents of the boy who received the e-mail and the police didn't realize is something many school age children do without a second thought and with no homophobic intent.
If not for political correctness which has people walking on eggshells fearing that anything they say or do will offend someone, this incident would never have risen to the level of a police investigation.
I think the father of the accused put it best when he told The Daily Mail "This seemed like a huge waste of resources for something so trivial as a playground spat."

Amazing they are not already flying the Iranian flag over there...
This thread is gay.
Well, as long as he's not taught about the Holocaust it's ok.
“...The parents of the boy who received the message complained to the police...”
There was a time when mature parents would call the other parents and work it out. People that call the police over a comment have more problems then those saying the comment.
"Lord, come quickly."
Political correctness will be the death of western civilization. This is insanity!!
Must of been a slow day for the PD in Cheshire
Only a matter of time now before he’s whisked away to a re-education camp...
It’s ‘bout time to slap a red star square in the middle of the Union Jack. They’re nearing ‘done’ status.
ahhh the jackboots of the PC crowd.
Being gay is stupid, isn’t it? lol
Interesting history of this word.
"Homosexual" had a bad connotation, so the PC people started using the word "gay"--which used to mean happy or joyfull.
Now, the word "gay" is evolving a bad conotation. Go figure.
He should have said he wanted to burn a fag.
Do they still sell furnace coke in sacks over there?
I hear it all the time with my 5th and 3rd graders. Means either “stupid” or “just plan wrong”.
Gay is, as Gay does.
And the Brits also want us to continue to respect them???Guess they have nothing more pressing going on...
Free speech means being able to say whatever you want...until the liberals tell you that you can’t!
Actually, couldn't the kid who complained about being called gay be considered the actual homophob here? If that kid had been thinking, he could have told the police he thought the other kid was cute and only meant it as a compliment. Fight idiocy with idiocy I always say.
It’s time for all the world’s sane people to start moving en masse to Australia. Then we throw out the leftists. Then we build a wall and let the rest of the world go to hell.
It beats sitting around waiting for these lunatics to get us all killed.
Good-bye Britain. It's been nice knowing you.
Wow, now police are enforcing political correctness in your own home over there. A once great country is going right down the tubes.
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
He meant calling something by a different name does not change what it is.
If gay took on a bad connotation, its because of to what it refers, not because of the word itself. Ban that word, and whatever word replaces it will assume the negative connotation.
I thought everyone was gay in merry ole England.
The boy told his parents that he didn’t intend to be homophobic, and he had used the word “gay” instead of “stupid”
I believe this is the truth of the story. I don’t think that 11 years know what gay even means. I am sure I did not at the age of 11 in 1980.
I was not taught the holocaust in school. You learn that along the way. Don’t sweat that too much. People will always learn about that.
In my day there was no alleged “phobia”, because our terms made it clear that we were disgusted by the behavior.
We simply called them corn——ers.
See...no hate, no fear,...just disgust at the behavior.
The UK is past the tipping point.... IMHO...
A matter of time before they "sink" into powerless, indistinguishable moral/political oblivion; destroyed by their own rabid political correctness...
Which has been the goal of their social architects and PC-engineers for a looong time....
Sad... JMHO...
” This thread is gay”
I say ‘such-and such’ as being “gay” too [=Stupid]
I’m in my 40’s.
Need to find another word...
Maybe I’ll just say “Fire”
If Europe goes down, I believe we will too. So I wish everyone would not be so estatic about Europe failing.
they were queers when I was in elementary school
in fact, they still are.
“thticks ‘n thtones will break my bones but names will never hurt me?”
The 11 year old is lying. Of course he used the term “gay” in a derogatory way. An 11 year old boy knows what “gay” is and is disgusted by it and makes fun of it at every opportunity. Just as I did at 11 and still do at 42 years of age. This is “homophobic,” of course, by today’s standards. I am also a “sexist,” as well, because I don’t put up with being “power-bitched.” I suspect I am “xenophobic,” too for wanting to preserve Western Culture. Such is my lot in life.
“”Homosexual” had a bad connotation, so the PC people started using the word “gay”—which used to mean happy or joyfull.”
I don’t know when “gay” first began being used to denote homosexuals, but I can tell you that there is a scene in the movie “Bringing Up Baby” (circa 1938) in which Cary Grant answers the door in a frilly robe belonging to Katherine Hepburn. The elderly aunt at the door asks him why he is dressed that way and he replies, sarcastically while leaping in the air,”Because I went GAY all of a sudden”. I was surprised by that reference in a movie so old.
The next time they have a break in,, just tell the police they heard the burglar use the word gay. I am sure they will come with lights flashing.
The boy told his parents that he didn't intend to be homophobic, and he had used the word "gay" instead of "stupid" which apparently the parents of the boy who received the e-mail and the police didn't realize is something many school age children do without a second thought and with no homophobic intent. So if the 11-year-old did have "homophobic intent" he could be criminally prosecuted??
In today's Britain, marauding "youths" commit real crimes at will, and the police go after recycling "offenders" and politically-incorrect children. This sickening decline of a truly great nation should give us warning.
I know a few gay people. They each refer to themselves as being “gay.” Would they be considered homophobic because they call themselves “gay?”

Here is a photo of the local Constabulary rushing to the scene of the holocaust perpetrated by the heinous young villain...
Don’t forget that the Tolerance Community wanted the Police to keep Straight Women out of the Gay Bars in SOHO. I believe they used the word “Hens”.
On the bright side, When they do, there will be no more investigations of people who are allegedly “homophobic”. A stupid word made up by sexually screwed up deviants to prevent society from pointing out the obvious about them.
Maybe he meant his classmate was happy??
Thought crime, double plus ungood.
Boy: You’re gay Classmate: “It takes one to know one”
I know you are but what am I? Still works to this day...
It’s April 6, not April 1. Isn’t it a little bit late for an April Fools post???
It has been synonymous with stupid for over 15 years now - it certainly was when I was 11... Yawn....
Apparently, not in the British school system by all of the latest news reports.
