When Eliseo Hernandez came to the United States 30 years ago, he thought he drove better after a few beers.
Driving drunk had been normal back in Mexico, he said. But Hernandez, 54, learned of its perils firsthand. He quit the practice after falling asleep at the wheel and hitting a tree 18 years ago.
Then, last year, a young Hispanic man who authorities say was drunk nearly killed Hernandez's only son, Diego, in a crash on a rural Johnston County road. Eliseo Hernandez's daughter, who was nine months pregnant, lost her unborn child in the accident.
Hernandez has spent the past year following Diego through four hospitals and 14 brain surgeries. Diego only recently began to smile again and might never walk.
Hernandez said he hopes his painful journey will teach his friends and family a lesson. Car accidents are the top killer of Hispanics in North Carolina, and the disproportionate number of alcohol-related arrests and wrecks are an embarrassment to a minority already beleaguered by hard feelings over illegal immigration.
"It makes the Mexicans look bad, very bad," Hernandez said. "The American people say 'Oh, it's just another Hispanic, the same as the others.' "

Yeah, driving drunk is just a part of their culture. We’re really just a bunch of bigots for not understanding. Maybe they could push for special protection under the first amendment or something.
That and knocking the girls up at the age of 12 and 13. That’s what scares the hell out of pro-choicers. It’s stark as hell where my youngest goes to school. He dropped the bomb in conversation this evening in the car. He said 5 or 6 girls in his middle school are pregnant. -0- black. -0- white. 6 hispanic. Whatever.
I have been friends with several Hispanics over the years and the ones I know will admit that they have a lot of problems. Like in Mexico, its pretty common for men to beat and abuse women. I have seen it here, they come here and still have that culture where it is okay to do that stuff. I know its a sterotype but it fits alot of the time.
I’ve seen some of those guys so drunk, and still on their feet and moving, as to defy all reason. Some of them will stay vertical long after a “normal” drunk would be passed out in a gutter.

Not only does it endanger the driver and other motorists, but also the 25 other mexicans in the truck...
It is a part of our culture to fine drunk drivers. I wonder which culture will win this battle?

I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population. Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%Pictures of top 10 most wanted in LA. Up until recent stories about crime in LA posted by the LA Times--the pictures included the nationality of the murderers. They were all foreign nationals and mostly Mexican.

There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.
Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article.
All that said, it could be argued that if you include the number of illegals in state and local prisons the number of illegals in jail shrinks to 6% of the total prison population. Never the less if you multiply 16692 (the number of americans murdered in 2005) * .06 (illegal alien percent of total prison population) * 4 (the number of years the US has been in Iraq). The result is that more americans (4006) have been killed by illegals than have been killed in the Iraq war.

Do you think that Pres Bush ever reads any of this stuff or does any of his staff bother to show him this kind of information? Maybe he just turns the other cheek and refuses to believe. It makes him a little dangerous if you ask me.

Gee I thought the Mexican girl we knew that got pregnant at 15 was terrible—guess she was practically an old maid. She’s got a younger sister though, and from all appearances, she is developing too fast and showing way too much so maybe she’ll make the family proud and get pregnant at 12, 13, 14?
