Too bad the race wasn’t today - NASCAR would have had to break out the snow tires.
Would have been like Bristol last year..........hopefully the winner won’t do snow angels again.
Will be gone midweek on! :)
Of course, as always Norm is
Uhh, Hey.. Great Idea!
Happy Easter to the FR Deputy crew ..
Oh well. :-)
Great job on the thread, as always WCG!
ST, see ya at the race track!
Are you ready for the races?!?!?!?!?
Are you kiding? Am chompin’ at the bit to get there!
It’s gonna be another high speed weekend in more ways than racin’!!!
Rolling north Thursday morning, maybe Wednesday night. Will miss the SA run.
Not it. I will be a desperado, if that's OK.
Pretty thread, btw
Mark Martin will be coming back in out of the cold........
Hopefully we will get a good race this weekend.
Got my last minute tickets, got a room and ready for some Texas race'n Boyz & Gals.
Earnhardt related to Siegel’s rough upbringing.
At 6, a fire destroyed his mother’s house. Unable to take care of Earnhardt and his sister, Kelley, she sent them to live with their dad, who had remarried. Dale Sr. was absent most of the time tending to his racing career. His wife, Teresa, according to Dale Jr., remained emotionally distant toward the children thrust onto her household.
Beautiful intro, etc. Also, love those boots.
It’s ONLY Monday...but, we got PLENTY to look forward to now!
I just heard on Nascar Now that Mikey was in an accident and left the scene. Apparently the car rolled, he has cuts on his face and hands.......apparently was speeding and fell asleep. I will see if I can find something else.
Here from Jayski........
Michael Waltrip Charged After Vehicle Accident Saturday: #55-Michael Waltrip is charged with reckless driving and failure to report an accident after a crash on Molly’s Backbone Road in Catawba County. The Highway Patrol says Waltrip was driving about 70 miles per hour in the 55 mile-per-hour zone when he went off the right side of the road in a curve around 1:50 a.m. Saturday. His car then traveled back across the pavement and off the left side of the roadway, sliding sideways and striking a utility pole as it overturned. The car then rolled over and came to a rest on its side. Troopers said a witness saw Waltrip crawl out of the vehicle and leave the scene. When a trooper went to his home around 2:30 a.m. no one was there, but when he went back at 8 p.m. he found Waltrip, who admitted he’d fallen asleep at the wheel. Waltrip, with scratches on his face and some deep cuts on his finger, spoke with Eyewitness News about the crash. He said he was on his way home to Sherill’s Ford from Charlotte. “I was almost home. I relaxed a little bit and ran off the road,” he explained. “I woke up with gravel hitting the car and I tried to correct but it was too late. The seasoned driver says he instinctively got out of his car, and then decided to walk home because he often runs the route and was only a mile away. Waltrip will be in court in Newton on May 14.(WSOCTV.com)(4-10-2007)
Does he have a reserve driver for Sunday?
The part I found odd was they talked to Ty Norris who said there were rumors going around about alcohol and that NONE was found on him. Well gee about how many hours later did they find him??...........sounds like Lil Brian’s stunt. This is allegedly and IMO of course.
Got to watch them crooked roads!
He jogs that road every day and walked the one mile home according to him. So where was he when the police got to his house at 2am?
Northbound today. To son's for a day, then on to the races!
John Force Racing plans to return to action at this weekend’s eighth annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals, team patriarch and 14-time NHRA world champion John Force announced during a nationwide press conference Tuesday. The team sat out the last national event in Houston following the March 23 death of team driver Eric Medlen, who died as a result of closed head injuries suffered during a test session at Gainesville Raceway in Florida. Experts have determined that Medlen’s death occurred due to a violent side-to-side shaking of his head within the cockpit roll cage.
All four race teams will go to Vegas, but only three might compete. In an unprecedented move, NHRA is allowing JFR to test at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, site of this weekend’s race, to see if John Force Racing’s reconfigured race cars are drivable. Under the watchful eye of NHRA officials, no tuning data will be gathered during the test, where Force will intentionally drive his car into tire shake to see if newly installed padding around the driver’s head will help. Force is not fully committed to racing any of his cars, including the Super Comp dragsters of daughters Brittany and Courtney, pending the results of the test session.
Wonder why they are just finding this out? Flash introduced the changing color paint at Charlotte many years ago.
That’s why I pinged ya ST. My favorite current color is Pearl White on the Caddy. Of course that was a popular color several decades ago...
Dale Jarrett to Make Debut as ESPN NASCAR Analyst at Texas: Dale Jarrett will begin the transition to what may be the next phase of his career this weekend when he joins ESPN2 as booth analyst for live coverage of Saturdays Busch race at Texas. Jarrett will appear on 10 of this seasons Busch telecasts while continuing to race fulltime in the Nextel Cup Series. Jarrett has indicated that 2008 will be his last year of driving and has hinted that a more expanded television presence may be in his future. Over the last few years, TV was something that I have taken more interest in and looked more at because I want to stay involved in the sport, he said. This is the perfect chance that ESPN is offering me to see if its something that I really want to do and want to look at after 2008 to do maybe closer to full time. And to find out if its something I can do and if ESPN would be interested in having me.(ESPN PR)(4-9-2007)
