One station seemed to specialise in Japanese sci-fi movies (it was either channel 26 or 39). Many a saturday I spent enjoying Mothra, Gamera, and Godzilla films. Then, channel 20 would air martial arts films on Saturday afternoons (this block was titled “Kung-Fu Theatre”).

Between those stations, I was able to watch programmes such Wild Wild West, Dennis the Meance, Hazel, The Mod Squad, Hawaii Five-0, Doby Gillis, Mannix, Batman, Superman, Lost in Space, Donna Reed, and many many more. The cartoon line-up included Speed Racer, Starblazers, Macross, Bugs Bunny, Voltron, and some Japanese live action shows such as Spectreman. back then, iwas like haveing three channels of TV Land but without the “marathons.”

North Korea is one of the few nations on the planet that could potentially consume half of it's resources including food stores just to put on a parade.
