World powers won't thwart Iran nuclear drive: Ahmadinejad

NATANZ, Iran (AFP) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday vowed that world powers would not be able to stop Iran's nuclear drive and that the Islamic republic would defend its atomic programme "to the end."

"The great Iranian nation, which for past centuries has been a pioneer of science, will not allow some bullying powers to put obstacles in its path of progress by influencing the international community," he said in a speech.

"We will go on to reach the summits," he added in a keynote address at Iran's ultra-sensitive uranium enrichment plant in Natanz.

"Today... this country has joined the countries that produce nuclear fuel on an industrial scale," said Ahmadinejad, confirming an earlier announcement by Iran's atomic energy chief.

The president gave no figures over how many centrifuges Iran had now installed at the Natanz plant.

"They should know that our nation with awareness and faith has stood by its leadership and will defend its rights to the end," he added.

Ahmadinejad also warned that Iran would "reconsider its behaviour" if it was provoked by world powers. He did not go into further detail.

"Our nation has until this day moved on a peaceful path, observing laws created by the world powers, and it is interested in continuing along this path.

"But they should take care not to do something that makes Iran reconsider its behaviour, as the Iranian nation is capable of doing so," he said.

"We recommend to them that they had better respect nations' rights."

Only when the people of the world get attacked on a major basis. Then the rest of the world will look to the US to bail them out again. The EU doesn’t have the forces to combat Iran nor do they have the will. Obviously, they are letting the muslims take over their countrys and they’ll pay for it. If Iran is allowed to continue its quest for nukes, we WILL be in a nuclear war some time soon.

Hangmen also die. Ahmadinejad is too confident. Sooner or later we and the Israelis will find our manhood again and terminate this cockroach.

Everyone should read a short German play “Biedermann und die Brandstifter.” (Biedermann and the Arsonists). The story is of a middle-class family man who invites some bad dudes to live with him. They tell him plainly to his face they are going to burn down his house and in his full view carry out their their preparations to do so. Biedermann’s reaction is pure denial until the arsonist do exactly that; they burn down and destroy his home. And they are perfectly upfront with a “hey, we told you what we were going to do” attitude. It’s typical of post-WW2 German literary expression; it’s full of self-pity as to how the Nazis could have gotten so far.

But it is highly illustrative as to human nature. Ahadinejad and his mullah puppet masters are the arsonists. They are plainly telling the western world what they intend to do.

And the west is watching with open eyes in full denial.

People for the most part believe what they wish to be true.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, speaks at a ceremony in Iran's nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz, 300 kms 186 (miles) south of capital Tehran, Iran, Monday April, 9, 2007.

Iran announced Monday that it has begun enriching uranium with 3,000 centrifuges, a dramatic expansion of a nuclear program that has drawn U.N. sanctions and condemnation from the West.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a ceremony at the enrichment facility at Natanz that Iran was now capable of enriching nuclear fuel 'on an industrial scale.'

Asked if Iran has begun injecting uranium gas into 3,000 centrifuges for enrichment, top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani replied, 'Yes.'

He did not elaborate, but it was the first confirmation that Iran had installed the larger set of centrifuges after months of saying it intends to do so. (AP Photo/Hasan Sarbakhshian)

I’m afraid we won’t. We don’t pay the rent until its past due.

I’d love to be wrong, but since we are depending on politicians here . . .

He's right - they will not be stopped - because 2 major powers are helping them! Russia and China!

NY and Rome are their targets.

""The great Iranian nation, which for past centuries has been a pioneer of science, will not allow some bullying ..."

I've read enough. "Pioneer of science" -- he sure is full
of himself. And full of something else too.

"He's right - they will not be stopped - because 2 major powers are helping them! Russia and China! NY and Rome are their targets."

The Iranians are hoping they can keep on stalling the US until they can create a deliverable nuclear weapons system that will threaten Europe or even America. After that they hope to surreptiously place bombs in America, Israel and European countries and suddenly strike without warning.

The Iranians are not concerned about the repercusions of this plot because they hope to have the threat of a Russian and Chicom all-out nuclear response hold back any American nuclear retaliation. In addition, they hope to divert our attention even further by having their communist allies in South America stage some distracting military activity against our interests in that part of the world or even against our southern border. Also our Pacific forces will be pinned down by North Korean action against South Korea and Chicom aggression against Taiwan or even Japan. The Mullahs are crazy enough to think they can pull this off.

‘President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday vowed that world powers would not be able to stop Iran’s nuclear drive and that the Islamic republic would defend its atomic programme “to the end.” ‘

The saddest part about all of this is—Ahmadinejad is right. No one will do anything to stop him. No one has the will to prevent him from getting a nuclear bomb.

If this rhetoric was being spewed from his little monkey-mouth 4 or 5 years ago, I would have felt confident that President Bush would have done something, but at this stage, he will do nothing. We will have Iran with nukes before my kids graduate from high school and this is the world we are going to leave for them to inherit.
