Rudy is what is known as a moderate Republican. Which means he's pro-business and strong on defense but socially liberal. Which still makes him far preferable to ultra-lib pols like H. Clinton and Obama who are far left on all the issues. And Rudy is electable. But too many conservatives prefer to go down the tubes with an unelectable conservative Republican. Speaking as a conservative Republican, I'd rather win with Rudy than lose with a conservative Republican.
The bottom line to the democrats is not only could Rudy win, but Rudy would succeed in making them look bad. Really really bad. Rudy would take the fight to them and never back off.
Rino Rudy is unelectable, he will split the party and lead to a rat win.
Longtime lurker here. If not Rudy than who? People bash Rudy and say they will never vote for him but never tell us who the better canidate is out there. I could see myself voting for Fred Thompson but he’s not in yet.
I live in Massachusetts and I just can’t vote for Romney again. The GOP can do better than Mitt. Much better.
“Rudy has executive experience, turning around an ungovernable large city. Who among the current front runner candidates can claim that?”
None other than Rudy. The Presidency is not an entry level executive position. Experience matters. It is near foolish to expect a lifelong legislator, who is camouflaged among the votes of many others to suddenly change overnight into a competent executive decision maker.
Duncan Hunter is a TRUE conservative on every issue without being a hard core right-winger that would turn alot of people off. The only thing people can say against him is name recognition. Most say, I like him but he only polls at 1%. If a conservative President who will fight the WOT is what the Republicans really want they will get behind him and get his name out there. I really think the RNC wants no part of him. They are scared of him. He is on the right side of every conservative issue. Pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, pro-family, pro-military, and he is against illegal immigration. I don’t believe the Republicans want somebody who will be strict regardin illegal immigration.
That's what makes this sorry little effort to give Rudy a boost so transparently pathetic.
Anyone else in the GOP field would be better.
But the author has to try to make the case, otherwise the rest of his book is also false.
And I'm not buying either premise, nor are many, many others.
He's a conservative's nightmare rahter than a Democrats nightmare, since "most of his positions are the same as Mrs Clinton's" according to him.
So do the pro-life pro-gun CONSERVATIVES in the race.
Stop the tape.
A welfare plantation for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS is not fiscal conservatism...
War?
Borders?
Terrorism?
2nd Amendment?
NONE.
Get your quarter out. Another day on the endless, spinning Rudy merry-go-round.
Another day of the endless sales tactics to paint the horse Rudy as a conservative. Even to the point of branding conservatives on a conservative sight as kooks.
Another day of the guilt trip browbeating, that if you are not for Rudy, you must be for Hillary.
Another day of artful dodging of Rudy’s liberal record.
Another day of Rudy being advanced as some kind of war hero.
Another day of pretending Rudy doesn’t have a shanty type personal life and a closet full of skeletons.
Another day that Rudy is the only one that can win.
Ugh. Did you ever notice how two people are trying to drive the American elections on both sides, neither one is a natural born American? Soros and Murdoch.
Both parties are coming together in America. American views are now too right wing. Ugh.
Your Hillary scare tactics are tiresome and predictable, BTW.
The lesser of two evils is still evil.
The Rudybots just don’t get it.
We already know what conservatism is, so they don’t need to redefine the term for us.
We already know what liberalism is, so we can spot one when we see one.
If the Republicans choose a pro-abortion anti-gun nominee, they do not want my vote. I will vote for a pro-life pro-gun candidate in the primaries and if possible in November.
