That's always reminded me of a scene from the John Landis movie, "Amazon Women on the Moon."
It spoofs late night TV, and you see one of those "solved mystery" TV shows, and they say they've discovered the true identity of Jack the Ripper. In the "show," the line is, "Using undiscovered evidence, we can now reveal that Jack the Ripper was actually Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster!"
