He supported Chafee? That’s pretty bad. I’ll only forgive him if he runs.

Problem for them is they hold a weak hand going in, and it only gets worse when Thompson does get in. One of the biggest problems is that they're attacking and drawing attention to a man who isn't even running yet, which has the dual effect of making them look silly and giving Fred free publicity.

I do thank Fred Thompson for doing the right thing. You get it, to your credit.
Who the heck in the Rudy camp dreamed up this line of attack on Fred?

Thanks for nothing, and Im sure the troops thank you too. I think both sides of this issue need to hold off a few more years before getting so worked up. If voting out RINO's has the ultimate effect of returning the Republican party to it's conservative roots, then in the long run we will see it as a positive, not the negative it appears to be now. I don't know if that will be the case, but the vitriolic finger-pointing should be held off a least until the next election results are in.

Well doine, Fred. I agree that Chairman Kennedy sounds far worse than any Rep Chairman. We now also have Chairman Leahy and Chairman Biden and Chairman Levin. Run Fred Run.

I did get it from this site. But I did not post this as Its’ own thread because it only incites the FREDHEADS to riot! I figured no one would post it. I guess I was wrong. This came out today in the blogsphere! LOL!

No one (who’s electable) is gonna be all things to all people. Ideally Fred would have quietly supported Chafee’s GOP primary opponent, sure, or kept mum. IDEALLY. And ideally Fred wouldn’t have endorsed McCain in 2000 and voted for McCain=Feingold. But at worst, I’m seeing Thompson at about 75% agreement with me. That’s not too bad.

I did get it from this site. But I did not post this as Its own thread because it only incites the FREDHEADS to riot!Even one of your Rudy supporter co-horts - old friend - says it is wrongheaded. And, since Rudy supported Cuomo over Pataki in the past, it blows up in his face instead.
With friends like you, Rudy hardly needs enemies.

Had people listened to Fred, then Harry Ried might have still been MINORITY leader.

The latest anti-Fred talking point has been issued. Fred * gasp * supported the re-election of a GOP Senator in 2006! I know that's an alien concept to the Rudy boosters, seeing how their guy supported Cuomo over Pataki in 1994.VERY well put. I was going to comment, but you pretty much said it all here!!!

Is this one of those Skeleton’s that you were talking about yesterday? if it is, whoop de doo.
I would rather support Chafee to save the Senate, than support Rudy to be the President.

Most people will see this as a minor mistake in judgment. It pales in comparison to supporting Specter over Toomey. I guess I will vote for the guy who has never made a mistake. That would be ...?
