$2.2 trillion illegal alien taxpayer sticker shock
WorldNetDaily ^ | 11 April 2007 | Not Identified

2/3 of immigrants cost Americans $22,449 a year, shows new study.

WASHINGTON – Someone has finally fixed an approximate taxpayer cost of between 12 million and 15 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S.

A new study by the Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector found a household headed by an individual without a high school education, including about two-thirds of illegal aliens, costs U.S. taxpayers more than $32,000 in federal, state and local benefits. That same family contributes an average of $9,000 a year in taxes, resulting in a net tax burden of $22,449 each year.

Over the course of the household's lifetime that tax burden translates to $1.1 million If the lower figure of 12 million illegal aliens is used for estimation purposes, the total tax burden translates to $2.2 trillion.

"Would any of us buy shares in a company that we knew would produce a loss of a million dollars a share," asks Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, in response to the study. "Cheap labor is not cheap at the cost of over a million dollars per head of household."

Rector's study, "The Fiscal Cost of Low-Skill Households to the U.S. Taxpayer," examines the economics of the 17.7 million American households made up of people without a high-school degree. Using numbers from the Census Bureau, the Congressional Research Service, the Bureau of Labor Standards and other government agencies, Rector determined what they earn, what they spend and what they receive in government services.

About half of the 17.7 million households studied are illegal aliens. About two-thirds of illegal alien households are headed by someone without a high school degree. Only 10 percent of native-born Americans fit into that category.

"Over the next ten years the total cost of low-skill households to the taxpayer (immediate benefits minus taxes paid) is likely to be at least $3.9 trillion," Rector writes. "This number would go up significantly if changes in immigration policy lead to substantial increases in the number of low-skill immigrants entering the country and receiving services."

This is OUTRAGEOUS! What is happening to our Country??? I doubt the 12 million number, it is more like 20 million, if that. Our elected officials have failed and continue to get re elected and do NOTHING to stop this. My congressional representative is Tom Tancredo and he can’t do it alone. I have written my leftist Senator Salazar and received a thank you response, he’s a flunky for the DemocRATS and as arrogant as they come, heaven help all of us with these kinds of morons and liars in Washington. They are only concerned with the global warming junk science, (this is the coldest April in over 100 years). How long can this go on with the ignorance and manipulation of too many voters.

Send them back home, along with a bill for $2.2 trillion, addressed to Felipe Calderon.

According to Bush, illegals are doing jobs Americans won’t do. Well if at the most, for instance, illegals are employed in 20 percent of the agricultural jobs...who does Bush think are doing the other EIGHTY FRIGGIN’ PERCENT OF THE JOBS!!!

Bush claims that they have deported six million illegals;
well if they deported six, they sure as heck can double their efforts and deport 12!

And for those who think that by the feds just fining employers who hire illegals and cutting off the benefits, that illegals will just pack up and go home;
MS-13 is taking applications THROUGHOUT AMERICA;
no experience necessary, must speak Spanish & no gringos need apply.

Deport ‘em all!
Ike did it, so can Bush!

No question that we are paying a fortune to subsidize those who employ illegals.

I'd try to ping Sen. Larry Craig, RINO-Idaho, but he'd just call this more "bumper sticker mentality" (he is elitist scum). He restated his pro-amnesty position last week, saying that while "border security is the first priority", we need a guest worker program because crops are rotting in the field without one. He also implied that we need massive immigration to keep the American birth rate up. He's going to announce late in the summer whether he's running for re-election or not...if he does run, I will do all I can to see he's booted out.

"Bush claims that they have deported six million illegals; well if they deported six, they sure as heck can double their efforts and deport 12!"

Except that the number is probably more like 20-30 million illegal scumbag aliens. He knows deporting six million, if that actually has happened, still leaves plenty enough cheap labor in the US to be found.

whatever the number, Bush has failed miserably to secure the borders, fine employers who hire illegals and deport illegals.

at this point, all we do is wait for the next election and DEMAND that the immigration laws be ENFORCED!

Where is Ike when we need him most. LOL

The best approach to this problem is to do nothing.
One has to keep in mind that the most important issue here is for us to be reelected. We’re not likely to if we attack this problem head on so the most expedient thing we can do is to pass this issue on to our grandkids. In the meantime let’s focus on issues that will keep us in power.
Gay marriage, abortion, Anna Nicole Smith, American Idol scandals should be presented to the press as the most important issues of the day.

Regards,

Your elected representative

That's what I've been saying for years - "Illegal aliens save you a nickel on a head of lettuce, but end up costing you an extra thousand bucks if you have to go to the hospital".

I reckon that illegal immigration has replaced social security as the third rail of politics.
