You know, if Don Imus had referred to the female Rutgers athletes as ‘sleepy-headed hos’ instead of ‘nappy-headed hos’, he’d probably still be employed.

I think you’re right—it was the “nappy” that did him in.

I-MAN used to be funny, 15 years ago. He has enough $ to buy his own radio station and then syndicate to Sat Radio, like the obnoxious Stern. So I do not feel sorry for him.
However the situation shows how “POLITICALLY CORRECT” (actually wrong the MSM is!) Who the hell are people, who in my opinion are bigots and shake down artists to judge IMUS? Who the hell elected them. Who are they to assume American Blacks need a “Chief” (unelected to be their “universal” spokes persons? Why are these clowns listened to?
Also, will Black Comedians stop calling me White Bread? The censorship so feared by the Left has been brought about by the Left - enjoy it.

It’s a quote from the article that we are commenting on.

Whatever Imus' sins, no one deserves to have Al Sharpton hero of the Tawana Brawley hoax, resolute defender of the fake rape charge against half a dozen innocent guys, which ruined lives sit in moral judgment upon them. This says it all.
I often disagree with Pat, but that is hardly the point here. There is an old saying: No idea can be held responsible for who holds it. And on this matter, Pat has certainly nailed it!

Amen! Sharpton has that and a lot more against him. Black expectations of their leaders are low and they support creeps like Sharpton and feel bound to support him no matter what.

They are not 5-year-old girls, and they are capable of brushing off an ignorant comment by a talk-show host who does not know them, or anything about them. With all due respect; apparently not, Pat. One of them even said she'd be scarred for life. It seems these pillars of academic and athletic success at Rutgers are emotionally five years old.

I think youre rightit was the nappy that did him in. I was looking at clips of Imus' show at You Tube and saw one where the "Cardinal" uses the term when referring to Condi Rice. This was last year.

And this from this article posted on FR tonight:
Media skip other side of Sharpton: 'Hate-crime perpetrator' given a pass
Media skip...
In 1989, a young woman jogger in Central Park was viciously raped and beaten by a gang of youths. Sharpton led a mob outside the court which claimed, without a shred of evidence, that "the boyfriend did it," and screamed that the victim was a "whore."

Al Sharpton is a proven racist, especially after Tawana Brawley.

If only Big Al had known back then—he could have gotten that Imus gang a year ago. /sarc :)
To: beaversmom
I saw that. Sharpton, in the tradition of inner city Black leadership gets a pass on anything fair or foul that, “Gives Whitey Hell”. His supporters don’t expect better so they don’t get better.
Pat Buchanan.................
Imus was fired by public opinion.
Justice was done.
