Climate Change: It was supposed to be a debate with John Kerry on global warming, but the former House speaker ended up being just a carbon copy, joining those tilting at windmills.
Calling himself a "green conservative" at a debate Tuesday, Newt Gingrich said he agreed with Kerry that human activity is warming the earth and that he differs mainly on whether the free market or government should solve the problem.
Sounding like Al Gore declaring the debate over, Gingrich said: "The evidence is sufficient that we should move to the most effective possible steps to reduce carbon." Along the way, he recommended a book Kerry wrote with his wife, "This Moment on Earth: Today's New Environmentalists and Their Vision for the Future."

Newt needs to quit the globalwarming suckup act right now. Leftists will never love him, he needs to stop seeking their approval with junk science.

I once was high on Newt for the presidensity.
And then I started thinking:
He always folded in meetings with Sick William Clintoooooon.
He has been only to happy to appear with Mrs. S.W. Clintooooooon to promote her health care.
He folded in a “debate” with Mario Cumo.
He now has folded in a “debate” with Jon Kary.
He just doesn’t have the stones to be considered for the presidency.

I too mourn Newt's loss here, he has been so sharp in presenting real solutions to the country's problems and then this...it makes no sense and is inconsistant with his brilliant understanding of all the other controversies.
A real head-shaker!

Ironically, Newt was wanting to have 9 to 11 debates with Hillary Clinton.
Newt couldn’t even take Kerry to task. He would fold if he were at the podium facing Hillary.
Newt is all talk when he is on friendly ground — conservative programs. But he seems to sing a conciliatory tune when he is face-to-face with the opposition.

Newt is correct... Human activity DOES warm the earth "a little".. not much but a little.. and the free market should solve the problem(s).. SO Newts correct..
He looked the government'ers in the eye and spit in it..
And what does he get here but abuse...
He might even have made a few liberals think about the problem realistically..

"Green conservative" is an oxymoron. The Global Warming movement has its origin in socialism which is incompatible with true conservatism. I have a Masters degree in Biology and certainly believe in conservation, but I differ with many of my colleagues on the issue of Global Warming. IMO, the scientific method requires us to examine ALL of the evidence with an open mind. It is gratifying to me that more and more scientists are beginning to point out that there is no "consensus" on the subject, particularly on the exact role, if any, that humans have in the cause of any perceived warming trend.
As for Newt, I never believed that he had a snowball's chance in h**l of becoming POTUS. He is just not an appealing candidate to an independent voter because he was demonized so thoroughly by the DBM for the 1995 government shutdown and during his ultimate "fall from grace". Were he a Dem, he could be rehabilitated, but as a Republican there is no chance of that happening. I've always thought that he had a brilliant conservative mind, but this "green conservative" mantra has caused me to reconsider that opinion.

Newt finished off any chance to be the nominee or running mate.
Buh-bye, Newt.
