An overweight teenager who managed to hide her pregnancy stabbed her baby to death after giving birth on the laundry room floor, local media reports.
The baby was found with 135 stab wounds in a trash can outside a suburban Minneapolis home, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported on Friday.
Nicole Beecroft, 17, was charged with first-degree murder yesterday after an anonymous tip led police to her home.
The teenager initially told police that she went to the bathroom at about 3am on Monday because "something didn't feel right".
Thinking the trash had been collected already, Beecroft said she gave birth on a towel on the laundry room floor and lay with her stillborn baby for 10 to 20 minutes before throwing it in the trash can.
But when police found the bloody infant, Beecroft changed her story and said she "panicked" and stabbed the baby girl after seeing her move a finger.
"She could have walked away and the baby would have been adopted by a family that wanted it," County Attorney Douglas Johnson told the paper, noting that mothers are allowed to abandon their babies at any hospital within 72 hours of birth with no legal consequences.
"Instead she destroys two lives: her own and the baby's. We don't know what motivated her," Johnson said.
I’ve got an idea for how she should be put to death....
Innocent by reason of insanity. :-\
I just have no words.
Its a Damn shame. I know several couples looking to adopt and they are on waiting lists and trying to cut through the red tape. I hope this animal gets the worst in this life and after.
Damn those anti-choice fascists trying to turn her into a murderer! This uproar is clear evidence that reproductive rights still have a long way to go. The child bloody monster probably still had the umbilical cord its parasitic tendril attached to the mother's this innocent woman's body - this was simply a really late term abortion. She was so terrified that she did not seek medical help - these are the sorts of dangerous ultra-late term home abortions that we are faced with because infanticide choice is not fully legal.
Do I need a sarcasm tag???
If you note her age, there won’t be much punishment.
There should be, but there won’t be.
Heaven help any little baby she ever gets her hands on in
the future. 135 stab wounds is overboard.
...excuse me? ONE STAB WOUND is overboard!
The culture of death is taking hold amongst us in our society and this 17 year old girl's actions (and so many more we see reported here on FR and elsewhere, and I imagine the many, many more that are never reported) are just more indication of it.
Violence begets violence. Abortion leads to child murder.
Who takes a knife to a laundry room?
Don’t know what motivated her?? FEAR. She gave birth and she didn’t even know she was pregnant? The girl is as dumb as a bag of rocks. If there ever was a temporary insanity plea, I think this is is.
I agree with you. I was saying that the girl is a minor. They usually let them go when they turn of age. The article doesn’t say if she will be prosecuted as an adult.
I was saying 135 wounds shows overkill and says that the person was in a rage at the time.
I totally agree it is murder. I was speaking more of what her punishment may end up being for murdering her child.
Too many of these cases happen all the time, and too many people who do this crime get off easy by using age and sympathy.
Don’t get too upset at me.
Knowing that there are millions who would have treated this child even worse just a few hours or even minutes before birth and the fact that that culture drives these types of vile acts.
Years ago, when I was a young bride, I bought an 8 lb lobster from the grocery. Silly me, I didn’t know they came LIVE. It was on ice, so I thought it was dead.
I brought it home, and dang it, the thing crawled out of the bag. Scared me to death.
I had no pot big enough to boil it in, so I had to kill it with a knife. Now I know a lobster is just a crustacean, but darn it, that was awful. The thing kept getting loose and trying to get away from me.
I don’t know how anyone can stab a baby. I had nightmares after doing it to a lobster. I made thermadore out of it so I wouldn't have to look at it anymore.
Something is seriously wrong with that girl. I wouldn’t trust her around anything smaller than her.
I agree with you. The Culture of Death goes on. I always think about the poor lttle baby, alive and moving only to be attacked and to die, before its hardly had a chance to take its second breath of air.
Unfortunatly, this goes on because we have created the facade in this country that as long as it is unborn, its not living.
This girl probably expected to see a dead child emerge.
It is very sad, and the end of one life and a life of hell for this girl.
Death house for this evildoer.
“a life of hell for this girl”
I doubt it. If she could stab a baby 135 times, she should already be considered a sociopath. I don’t think they care much about anything.
May the Lord have mercy on our society for its Culture of Death and Culture of Convenience.
There must be a reason why she expected the child to be stillborn which is not clear to me from this article. Had she taken one of those drugs kids use to cause abortion which sometimes doesn't work (sorry, can't remember the name of it), perhaps?
Either way, she will be in prison, a mental institution, or be a pariah to everyone who knows her, when or if she gets out of some type of institution.
None of that is too pleasant, her child is dead by her hand, and she will live with that for the rest of her life.
She will not get the death penalty because of her age. She may deserve it, but she will not get it.
I don’t know, It might have more to do with the idea that a fetus isn’t a living human that the pro aborts need to keep trying to sell to justify butchery. Maybe some of them grow up these days believing that.
It says she threw the child in the trash, and when she saw it move its finger, she began stabbing it.
That is what led me to believe she thought it was not alive. What was she thinking? I don’t know, one of these days we will probably find out.
This is an awful case.
It would be interesting to see what school she attended, and other factors surrounding her childhood development and "education", IMO.
I suppose we will have to keep an eye on this one.
I have 3 sons. My oldest is in his early 30’s. I am glad they are raised and doing well.
I have asked myself over and over if had it to do again, would I want kids in this world we have now?
I love kids, and it is sad to even have to think that. I always liked the little ones because they are so innocent and loving.
The first day they step on to the school bus, the trouble begins.
My father thought along the same lines, and he came to the conclusion that the best thing you can do for someone, if you really loved that person, was to kill him or her and spare them from living. This was when I was one or two.
He was also talking to trees, eating peyote and smoking pot in the mountains over Santa Cruz - my mother left him and took me with her, and so I'm alive today and typing this.
No matter what one may think of the world, life has a way of overcoming it - if it is well developed. Our society may be looking pretty sad right now, both those individuals who were and are well developed and healthy (physically, emotionally, and intellectually) will be able to help our society recover - IMO.
What a lovely post, your story woke me from my gloom and thank God your mother was a wise woman.
I am older than you and it is heartening to know there are people like you out there on the right track.
It is going to take a lot to turn around what is going on today
Homeschooling kids is a very good place to start, or sending them to schools that aren't run by the government.
Education used to be important. The lib social agenda seems to be at the top now.
Well, I hope you do have those kids someday, kids are a blessing, and they can bring so much enjoyment to your life. My guess is that you will make a great parent.
Thank you! :^)
I've been working to develop an organization structure that will be a alternative to the unhealthy educational system we have now, that will make it possible to develop physically, emotionally, and intellectually healthy individuals, who themselves will form physically, emotionally, and intellectually healthy increasingly larger groupings of communities and social networks. I've not had time to meet someone with whom to have kids! LOL!
You had better make some time.
Don’t let life pass you by.
Stay busy, but not too busy, if you know what I mean.
Don't I know it - at this rate I'll be too dead or too old to see my future first born enter into professional society, let alone those that follow.
