Nancy Pelosi’s recent trip to Syria represents more than a partisan jab at the Bush Administration and its policies. It goes to the very heart of the constitutional foundation of our republic!
While Harry Reid is waving the Constitution in our faces – citing the independent power of the legislative branch of government – he conveniently diminishes the constitutional authority of the Presidency with his statement that the Democrats represent the people, while the President DOES NOT!
The Democrats, and particularly Pelosi and Reid, have apparently forgotten Constitution 101. The power to set Foreign Policy resides ONLY in the Presidency. As long as George Bush holds the office, HIS policy IS the Foreign Policy of the United States.
For that matter, the power to determine the Military’s mission and it’s strategies reside with the Commander in Chief – which role is also held solely by Mr. Bush.
Ms. Pelosi has been attempting to set herself up as the de-facto leader of a shadow government – operating to circumvent the constitutional authority and the relevancy of the President and of the office of the Presidency. This is an insurrection. An insurgency within our government!

I not only want her impeached I want that women wearing an orange jumpsuit. She far exceeded the authority of her office and flagrantly violated the Constitution with her little “Hey look at me!” trip to cohort with the enemy.
In her delusional “I’m so important” world she apparently thinks it’s the Speaker of the House’s role to set foreign policy instead of the President. This woman is in need of a good old fashioned southern bitch slapping.
The worst part of the non-prosecution of this will be the precedent it sets; Who will be next?
There is no Constitutional basis for the impeachment of a member of the HoR.

The 1799 impeachment of Tennessee Senator William Blount stalled on the grounds that the Senate lacked jurisdiction over him. Because, in a separate action unrelated to the impeachment procedure, the Senate had already expelled Blount, the lack of jurisdiction may have been either because Blount was no longer a Senator, or because Senators are not "civil officers" of the U. IMO if the reps don’t fight this tooth and nail, Ms. Chamberlain will keep on and get worse and worse.
Who will be next? Anyone who exceeds or oversteps their authority, that's who. And why should this set a precedent?
Actually the PEOPLE are supposed to discipline THEIR representatives and have that option every TWO years.
