CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- Jason Reynolds never planned his victims' deaths, never saw their faces, never even knew their names before they died.
But Reynolds was sentenced yesterday to two life terms without parole in a precedent-setting case that saw him convicted of first-degree murder resulting from a lethal case of road rage.
Arapahoe County District Court Judge Carlos Samour yesterday lambasted Reynolds, a 34-year-old gravel-pit worker, for his "universal malice" and said he doubted he could ever be rehabilitated.

Good riddance.
Now he’ll really have to watch out for tailgaters.
I'd say the sentence was just.
Get out of the left lane and let people pass you! You never know if one is nuts.
The right lane has been the fast lane for ~ 10 years now.
Makes me nuts. Don’t they teach people not to pass on the right anymore?
He might not have had time. Sounds like this Reynolds-jerk was driving like a lunatic to begin with.
Other drivers said Reynolds was weaving through traffic and tailgating other cars at speeds of 85 to 90 miles per hour. Minutes before the fatal crash, they said, he nearly caused an accident by pulling in front of another car and hitting his brakes.
We all have had this kind of d*ckw##d drive beside or behind us.
They always seem to careen ahead of me and get away with it.
They of course have somewhere they must be in a hurry like the grocery store.
And of course they tailgate because they are too stupid to know the physics involved.
I hope a lot of people hear about this verdict.
I hope more judges hand down sentences like these.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
Other stories about this individual indicated he had anger issues. He wanted to be a police officer but when the police contacted his neighbors, they all stated that was a bad idea.
It was only a matter of time before he killed someone.
ROFL!
Put the low-life in and throw away the key. Same thing they should do with drunks that kill people while driving. Put them where they can never ever ever ever hurt anyone else.
Good! I hope he rots there.
These aggressive drivers and road rage incidents need to be severly punished like this jerk. I hate these kind of drivers.
Hey, I’ve given you the finger on the Schuylkill! I was the one passing you in the 82 LeBaron. Good to see you again! ;)
Cool! I had a love affair with Pacers. When I was stationed in Germany in the 70’s, the Germans LOVED it, so I had Dad and a friend buy some, and I shipped ‘em over...sold 6 of ‘em over there!
He’ll be out in 10 years, max.
Sorry---I've spent too much time on the Virginia Tech threads.
Carry on.

My judgment so sublime, let the punishment fit the crime, let the punishment fit the crime.
hee hee hee!
In Jersey it is just called Drivin'
Somewhat less than half seem to hold to "keep right except to pass". The others are just doing their own thing. Since I've been trained by the MSM not to be judgmental, I just pass them on the right and make sure that they don't try to get in front of me and turn right immediately.
95% of the people I see on the road follow too closely. I learned the 2 second rule and I use it. Watch the rear tire of the vehicle in front of you go over a mark in the road and count: One thousand one, One thousand two. The front of your car should not cross that mark while you are counting. This simple rule automatically adjusts for whatever speed and always assures a safe distance.

(my grandfather sang the title role with the Rome (GA) Opera Company in 1920 or thereabouts . . . )
I just thought a picture of the Lord High Executioner was appropriate to the theme of the thread.
bumper bullies
I thought appeals were to correct procedural errors and the like. Does every convict get to appeal just because he doesn’t like the verdict?
I leave enough space between me and any car ahead that I can stop almost no matter what.
If some car zoomed in front of me, I’d slow down immediately (as I also check my rear view mirror to be sure the car behind me also has room to slow down) to restore plenty of room between us—esp if the guy is driving like a crazy (zooming is driving like a crazy).
Furthermore, whenever someone tailgates me, I simply move over and out of his way ASAP.
My ego is not so small that I must win at such games.
Plus a couple of times, by having given such jerks room to speed, I later passed them after they had been pulled over for a tickt.
I was tailgated in a big backup on a small road one rainy night. She would not get off my bumper. Sure enough, I stopped for a stop sign at the bottom of a slight hill and she couldn’t stop and ran right into me.
I get out of the car and her little red whatever had a nice bend in the hood and a dent in the front bumper. My big ole SUV was just fine.
Revenge is so petty, yet so sweet . . .
What is the punishment therefore?
. . . but that's just me . . .
OK, I hereby sentence you to go watch this version, from the Canadian Stratford Festival Company. (If you've seen it already, sentence reduced to time served.)
It's a fine production . . . and Pooh-Bah alone is worth the price of admission.
Nope. Just a white guy getting the shaft.
Carry on.
I'm in tears going north on I-75 near Gainsville. Six lanes and some inconsiderate dolt is cruising in the two right lanes, oblivious to the world around him (or her).
Then when you finally get a chance to go around the nimrod they look at you like you're crazy!
Unfortunately FL has no law that says you can't hog the left lane and that's all some people need to believe it is their God-given right to do so.
Sell that crap to someone else.
DITTO your comment. Most RR cases are created by the victim being a butt.
I hope this sounds mean, Jason Reynolds got what he deserved and what he had coming.
No, you're a good candidate. But thanks for thinking of me.
*snicker*
We need stricter car-control laws.
Cars kill.
This individual had been reported numerous times before for the same offenses. He would drive up behind you real fast. Once the person moved to the right lane to let him pass, he would drive past you, move to the right lane and hit the brakes.
He had a pattern of this behavior and this is why the prosecutor went for the murder charge.
His neighbors stated this guy was a bully.
A tow truck driver who was at the scene of the crash testified during the January trial that Reynolds told him that Norman “got what he deserved and got what he had coming.”

If you only see a white getting the shaft, then I don’t much difference between you and Sharpton or Jackson. Only the color of the skin matters and not the actions of the individual.
And if you fail to see that the precedent has now been established to sentence somebody to two life terms for a crime of this nature, then I fail to see the difference between you and the rest of the zero tolerance toadies.
Its not zero tolerance. Murder is murder. The individual in this case used his vehicle as a weapon.
There were numerous witness to the accident and there were some witnesses who came forward to state this d******d did the same thing to them previously. The police had the prior incidents in their records.
This wasn’t a case where one person pulls in front another and an accident happens. This individual did this numerous times intenionally. If you can see the intent, I can’t help you.

An earlier story which shows the guy had a record of Reckless Driving.
