Skip to comments.Tech killer was 'obsessed' with girl who had new boyfriend (New info)

Her smile shines out of the pictures posted on the Facebook website under the title of “Why Emily Hilscher was cooler than me”.
The girl who is believed to have obsessed the Virginia Tech killer, Cho Seung-Hui - and may have been his first victim - had a lot of friends. More than 200 had posted tributes on the website today.
Ella Miller, an old class mate, wrote: “I remember her untieing my shoes with a fork, when we played in the woods around her house in the club house, going to the beach with her and her family. Spending the night at her house and staying up late playing cards, her teaching me how to play the saxaphone, summer crab feasts, swimming in the river, jumping on trampolines in the rain, backstreet boys concert, her putting worms on her nose lol...and it wasn’t just her personality - she was gorgeous!!”
Photographs on the same website show a pretty young woman, preparing for a toga party, going on an 8th grade field trip, and arriving at her high school prom. Described as a straight “A” student, Ms Hilscher, 18, spent most of her free time horse riding and hoped to become a vet.
”I’m interested in pretty much everything,” she wrote on her MySpace page, in which she refers to herself as “The Pixie”.
She added: “My friends are what keeps me smiling. I’m into snowboard, riding and music. Give me something I can bang my head to or dance like crazy, and I’m all over it.”
Ms Hilscher had met a new boyfriend, about whom she gushed about on her page. “I live, love and get booted but eventually that will change...I now have a wonderful guy who is hopefully going to change all of that.” College friends said her new boyfriend had just dropped her off before the massacre.
Ms Hilscher, a first year student who was studying animal and poultry sciences and equine science, was the next-door neighbour of Ryan Clark, a residential adviser at the dormitory where the shooting started.
It is believed that a morning argument in the dormitory at the Virginia Tech campus led Cho to kill the teenager and Mr Clark who had attempted to come to her aid.
Her grandmother, Merle Hilscher, 71, described the tight bond Emily had with big sister Erica, 21, who attended a nearby university. “They were very close all their lives,” she said.
“Now one of them is ended, but we have to carry on.”
On her Facebook tribute page today, Cody Yager wrote: “Emily was one of my first friends here at [Virginia] Tech. How could such a beautiful soul be removed from our lives?”
Will Sonnett from Rappahannock County High School in rural Virginia, said: “Emily Hilscher was cooler than me because she could make friends with a glance and a smile. She never hesitated to make someone, anyone feel at home with kindness and an open mind. Thanks for being awesome to lame little 8th graders, and for making stupid computer classes unforgettable.”
she was 18... 18 year-olds do things like that.
I am. They have a right to post their pics and notes w/o being bothered.
"I'm talking about a bad habit people--young people, esp--have gotten into. It's a kind of recklessness."
It's only wreckless if one's in the spy business, in some witness protection program, or undercover. Most folks don't want to live life in hiding.
Sorry forgot the link to Hot Air for above post #253
|"Good God almighty, can't we just say what not everyone really knows what we're talkin' about here, huh? You just don't put tattoo's that close to your, uh, geniteralia."|
The post is right. Everyone has commented the same. All the notes about Cho, said he had no friends, because of his own doing. Even his room mate was unable to get him to talk, or give more than one word answers.
If one other person in that dorm would have had a concealed handgun permit (like they do in Texas) and a loaded gun, when the perp busted in, the number of dead would have been a lot smaller.
And yes, you're the one talking about rights. It's your issue, not mine. You addressed your post to me as if *I* was talking about rights, when I was commenting on this alarming practice of "advertising" one's self online. They has the right to be reckless. I wish they would stop, but that's not the same as passing a law.
I don't know the extent of what Emily H posted about herself--but I wish young people would stop posting personal biographies that a large population (frequently it includes an entire campus) can view.
Which is why we need the UN to control the internet starting in 2009.
I don’t think it is at all out of the rhelm of imagination that he was besotted with her and she hardly knew he existed. His mind was pretty twisted (from reading the manuscript he wrote). I think digging into this girl is pretty twisted myself, since she was nothing but a young college student just beginning to live life. She didn’t ask to be murdered by this slime.
I just heard an interview with the roommates brother by Mark Levin.. very mature young man. His brother is in hiding.
I dont mean her any harm, but as I stated in my first post this story seems to paint her like an angel.
Posts like yours are precisely the kind that enable the left and the mainstream media to dismiss this excellent site as a meeting place for cranks, kooks, malcontents, and misanthropes. Of course you meant her harm---why the hell even bring what you brought up in the first place if you didn't feel like it was your duty to knock her down a peg or two?
You have no class at all. I would expect more from someone with "Go Navy" on their FR homepage, but I'm really not surprised by anything these days. I hope you're not a grad.
Oh, that will really solve things, won’t it?
Drudge states the perp may have been on anti depressants. How about banning mood altering drugs????
Instead of gun bans.
hey archie, they’re are called tramp stamps now...
the campus police probably wouldn’t do anything because it would be racial profiling, and everyone in the country is afraid of that term.
That is very wise advice for anyone. I would extend it to include any form of digital communication.
I think his soul was mangled in all kinds of distortions not only his love life!
He hated the rich American, his profesors, and other things!
I wonder if Cho Seung-Hui read the works of Sayyid Qutb who Osama Ben Layden was a follower of?
Nice post, by the way
Do you have some kind of problem? I would bet that almost everyone reading this thread has about had it with your attitude regarding this tragedy.
Actually, I think that it was an excellent post. The analysis by Hemingways Ghost is spot on!
The garbage you've been posting to this thread is another story entirely. You're not going to investigate this tragedy????
You're a legend in your own mind.
Now you’re just being silly.
Exactly how do you get dropped off at YOUR dorm at 6:30AM unless you just spent the night somewhere else? I suspect Cho-boy was stalking her since one of his roommates said he had been up early every morning recently - probably so he could observe her returning from her overnights with the boyfriend. That dude is lucky he didn’t start with him and work his way up to her! I would have thought he’d have off’d the boyfriend first!
Hemingway’s Ghost and wireman...I agree with both of you in your posts #262 and #272 respectively....I read Visions post #38, before it was removed...I can only say, thankfully the mods saw fit to remove such a post...
You’re right that IS tagline material! I just scrolled up to my post, though, to find my usual Schopenhauer tagline GONE! Wha’ happen’d! Must have erased it by accident-—
It was “Talent hits a target no one else can hit, but genius hits a target no one else can see”.
What are you talking about?
Yeah, and I commented that it's a socializing thing, not only that it was their right to do so, w/o interference from creeps.
I said that, because you had said it was a "bad habit", and "the fact that she had her face online probably helped fuel the stalking." LEt me make it perfectly clear. She was not responsible for the stalking in any way shape, or form. She is entitled to socialize with her friends w/o interference from stalkers and demeaning comments claiming that her actions led to her stalking, and her subsequent murder. It's equivalent to suggesting rape victims are responsible for their own rapes, because they may have worm certain clothes, attended certain events, or were out after certain hours.
Does that mean you want ot buy a vowel?
And I lived in a coed dorm at college...and truly there was never the slightest consideration of any kind of crime...let alone this horror. But perhaps we were different then.
But who knows? This is a strangely different world than even that of the raucous 70's. We were raucous, but we were not evil or demented.
He owned her in his own mind. I don’t know the extent of their interaction, but he was obviously obsessed.
Which would translate into Europeans and people of European descent often looking older than their age from an Asian point of reference (Americans of Asian descent grow up in a majority European-descended society, so they'd probably have a European/European-descended point of reference).
I bet she ate all the best fried dog nuggets at his barbeque and made him mad.
Idle speculation is the purest of crap.
Though in your defense, there have been reports of Ismail Ax in red ink on his arm or in a note.
While there is a tendency to paint things in black and white, and so since Cho is a monster, this girl has to be perfect, she still shouldn’t have been murdered in cold blood.
Personally, Vision seems to come off as old.
However, Christians are human, and humans have flaws.
Just pointing that out.
The room mate is in hiding, becausse of threats?
You've made your point that this girl was not perfect--the same with all human creatures.
She was not asking for it. That’s ridiclous.
Just in case you haven’t looked at all the posts, not only those addressed to you, you are referenced in many of the posts.
But that is how a LOT of freepers here so far are taking your comments on this thread.
