Very very sad. But I have to wonder what would have happened had someone fought back. Thrown books, thrown a desk, anything to at least go down fighting.
The sheeple attitude of the Dems obviously does not work.

I'm hesitant to say this considering I believe a great many people will be offended, but...
This guy was on Oprah today and they said he was "very courageous" and from the beginning of this thing I was shocked to see that not one man aggressively pursued this man.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad this kid is alive. That said, it is sad that his actions are now considered courageous. A lot of guys did a lot of good that day and sacrificed, like the Jewish holocaust survivor who stood at the door and took bullets as the kids fled, but why did no one act?
The shooter had to reload multiple times, he walked through the aisles and shot people one at a time with little to no resistance. Its sad to see the event happened, compounded by the fact than there was no concentrated effort to take him out. 15 people charging him could/ would have stopped him... I'll wait to respond, hindsight is 20-20 and I know some won't like this, but the men of America these days, and I'm not indicting this guy in particular, have been sissified and its shocking to me.

the dude is shooting his way in - wasn’t there anything to grab and smash the SOB in the face with as he came through the door?
To: driftdiver
Thats what I was thinking, they saw him coming and hit the ground. There were plenty of weapons available and nothing was done.

So far the best example of bravery that I’ve seen was the teacher who sacrificed his life to save his students. Hopefully his final lesson is the one they’ll remember.

Hurl a steel bottled fire extinguisher at him hard as you can, then use the same extinguisher for a brutally crushing hard hit into the head.

Right, I am pretty confident that I would have done something, I’d rather go down swinging then sit and wait to die.

Top top it off, the cowardly cops stood outside behind trees and cars while the shooting was in progress.
Not ONE tried to bust in through a window or door. Not one.

I too am glad to see this student alive. However, although he is rationalizing it to himself now, I fear (for his mental health) that in a few years he will come to realize that the lack of action may have cost more people their lives.

I hear what you are saying and find it very insightful.
The Jewish professor was a true hero. Obviously he determined never to "board the train" again...

Could it be the result of feminism?

I don’t think it’s just America, the actions of the British Sailors held captive in Iran weren’t too impressive either (IMO)
...although, there have always been Neville Chamberlains throughout the ages...

I would have done something
I consider myself a courageous person, and in my younger days I wasn't afraid to get into fights with kids bigger and stronger than me, but if the guy had a gun and I only had a couple of seconds to make a decision I honestly don't know what decision I would make.
Presumably most civilians would be in a state of shock and that might slow down their reactions even more.

It is ridiculous. I dont know what has happened to men. They are being pu$$ified. Like
this massacre in Canada in 89. from the link
Lépine then separated the nine women from the approximately fifty men and told the men to leave, which they did. The women died as the men (50 of them) cowardly walked out to let their female classmates be murdered.
Where are the real men. What happened to "greater love hath no man". Why are Americans allowing our men to become cowards?

They would likely be dead. Dead anyway. Two could have tackled him. In classes here we sometimes let the military types sit near the door, a favored seat since the next class is in ten minutes and is twelve minutes away. There are a lot of military here attending class. This joker wouldn't get far.
