The American people, including the families of the murdered Virginia Tech innocents, have collective blood-guilt on their hands. I have not gone to jail to protest the war machine, so I am no better than they and probably a good deal worse because I have given the issue some thought. How many of those parents in the audience hearing the President's words had elected to Congress men and women who voted for lax laws on gun ownership? How many of those parents in the audience had also voted for legislators who backed the president's illegal invasion of Iraq? Are we, as a nation, too obtuse to grasp the connection between our "gun culture" policy at home and our militarist policy abroad that murders and mutilates human beings at every turn? Practically any one in America can buy a gun, and abroad, any dictator in the world can buy weapons made in America because we just happen to be the world's biggest arms peddler ...
The same parents who weep for their children might consider that they and their neighbors are also spending a half trillion dollars a year so that the Pentagon, just over the horizon from Virginia Tech, can wage a war that is snuffing out the lives of children of other parents just like their own. Thousands of Virginians work for the military-industrial complex. They work for the Pentagon. They work for defense contractors. They work for the Central Intelligence Agency. They are in the business of killing directly or indirectly, yet how many of them are haunted by the consequences of their "jobs" in their dreams at night?

Total wackey lefty propaganda - the writer belongs on The View with Rosie O’donuts.
Just so no one goes off on Little Green Footballs, please note that it’s posted as The Worst Left-Wing Article Ever.
His destiny was set when his parents named him “Sherwood”.
They bill it as "The Worst Left-Wing Article Ever," and that's no hyperbole.
This is without a doubt, the sickest, most morally bankrupt, and most nakedly hateful political piece I have ever read -- left, right or otherwise. Other than Fred Phelps, I can't think of anyone cruel and deranged enough to bait the parents of the 32 dead students the way this guy does. Ross makes even degenerates like Ted Rall and Ward Churchill seem mild in comparison.
Drop the author a love note here: sherwoodr1@yahoo.com
I was going to post “when did LGF turn the corner into madness?” until I saw your post. It’s definitely the worst LW article ever.
What is most fascinating about this pathology is the peculiar reversal that this article avoids.
Human beings in Iraq are attacked by insane madmen like Cho everyday.
From this author’s perspective, the effort to stop the carnage by our soliders is the profound evil.
It is evil and wrong to not allow madmen like Cho and Zarqawi to annihilate innocent people on their personal whims.
By extension, it is the police and other law enforcement officials of Virginia who are likewise to committed to an evid external agenda— refusing to accept the inevitability and suitability of Cho’s grand worldview for killing off “rich white kids.”
The occupying imperialists of Virginia’s law enforcement stormed the campus where Cho was holding classes on economic extermination. Why can the white imperialists Virginians not let go?
I really do think the violence at Virginia Tech is an ominous metaphor that has the potential to rhetorically explode the world of the Luny Left.
What are we to make of the violence on Iraq’s college campuses? What should be done?
Posting something like this without a BARF ALERT is just plain irresponsible ;)
Seriously though, what a loon.
That is the most absurd thing I’ve seen in the last 3 months. I simply don’t know where to begin. Not only does this offend me as a semi educated person but also as fan of the written word.
Well .. I tend to agree with them!
