UNION, N.J. -- Former Gov. James E. McGreevey is teaching ethics, law and leadership at Kean University.
The Star-Ledger of Newark reported the nation's first openly gay governor earns $17,500 and has been an executive in residence since Nov. 1.
When he was in office, McGreevey was often criticized for the appearance of ethical lapses.
"It seems to me, Jim McGreevey teaching law and ethics is a little bit like Doctor Kevorkian teaching health maintenance," state Republican chairman Tom Wilson told the newspaper.
The job requires McGreevey to work up to 15 hours a week and helps the 49-year-old accrue credits in the state pension system.
McGreevey said everyone is entitled to their own perspective and he didn't pick Kean because of the retirement benefits.
"For a university like us to have the ability of a former governor -- for what we pay him -- it's an opportunity for our students we shouldn't miss," Kean President Dawood Farahi said.

Maybe he can bring in Corzine as a guest speaker at a later date to discuss the importance of public officials obeying the laws they seek to impose on others.

Actually the Cubs have won a world series. McGreevy has never had ethics.

the nation's first openly gay governorArrgh! I hate that the stupid media prints this over and over!
He was NOT OPENLY GAY when he was governor! He resigned and then announced that he had previously been a closeted "Gay American!"
And he resigned because the federal prosecutor was breathing down his neck regarding corruption charges. He had McGreevey on mic saying the code word Machiavelli to a farmer he thought was giving him a payoff but instead was was wearing a wire.
Hiring his boy-toy as homeland security chief was certainly bad as well!

$17,500? That is a very low cost for a Professor salary. I am wondering if he only taught a quick seminar. Actually, people who are ethically challenged sometimes can use experiences to teach the class. We had a Business Law class for my MBA and the Professor used to get in all sorts of trouble as a youngster and he ended up using some of his examples in class. It was an interesting learning environment.

That ranks up there with Ted Kennedy (the Swimmer) teaching drivers education. Kennedy, who should still be in jail for his part in MaryJo’s death, questioning Supreme Court nominees ethics. Liberals are pathetic and not worthy of pity.
