That, my friends, is known as a contradiction in terms, and in the science of logic, a statement that goes on to deny itself becomes inherently false.

I'm curious if anyone sees the above in the below, or is it just me?

To believe that the VT event is proof of a need for more gun restrictions and gun laws, or to believe that these would be the prescription required to prevent events of this sort in the future, would also require you to believe the following:

1. Criminal-elements will continue to break other laws, including existing gun laws, but respect newly enacted gun laws;
2. Elimination of 100% of all existing guns in America is attainable;
3. Outlawing guns will mean that no new guns will ever enter America. (works real well with drugs and illegal aliens today, huh?);
4. Guns are only used by those with murderous intent, and are never used to stop and prevent other crimes, or to defend oneself;
5. Elimination of guns will mean an end to violence, rather then violence through other means;
6. There is a realistic chance of amending the US Constitution to eliminate our right as citizens to bear arms (remember 2/3 of the House; 2/3 of the Senate; signature of the President; and ratification by 3/4 of the States).

It might make the libs “feel good” to fantasize about such a world, but it’s not gonna happen. Instead, the libs virtually guaranteed that the perp at VT would walk into a pristine gun-free zone, assuring he’d meet little or no resistance that he couldn’t overcome.

One additional legally-armed citizen could have made quite a difference in Blacksburg.

To: Leftism is Mentally Deranged

Thanks for replying to him, I hope many do, thats why I posted the article here.

Maybe even send him a link to this thread so he can see for himself. I’d send it to him but I happen to work Very close to their main office and punks like him tend to take revenge. Not by confronting their adversaries personally (he looks like a real puss) but by slashing my truck’s tires and I can’t have that.

"all you need are three forms of identification - a state I.D., a bank check and a phone bill, for example - and, after a minute-long instant background check, you're good to go, son."

This is what YOU wanted, son!. YOU demanded a background check! YOU insisted that all purchasers be checked!

Laws were passed and YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED! Now you're not happy? Tough.

Exactly. One wonders just how many leftist nutters reside in Minn. The editors, writers, Op-eders seem to be interesting social miscasts in many newspapers around this nation. Why is that?

Congrats. Good post. Hey, Adri. VT is a microcosm of a gun-free zone. The bad guy had a gun, they always will. Thirty two good people were helpless victims, unable to defend themselves and with nobody coming to their aid. Deprive citizens of the right to defend themselves and you deprive them of the right to life. Is that where government is going? The fact is, the system failed. Failed to recognize the danger this individual posed and restrain him. Failed to come to the aid of these victims in time. The fact is that crime is way, way up in both Britain and Australia. Dose of reality.

What happened in Vt is a direct result of gun control. They disarmed a population so that this monster was the only one with a gun. He was shooting fish in a barrel.
This is the reality of gun control in action!!!!!

I would suggest that the gun grabber morons ask that question of the 23 million murdered by Stalin, the countless millions murdered by Hitler (who upon seizing power made “gun control” his first order of buisness), and the hundred thousand or so murdered by Castro.

Yup.

Yesterday the Brisith press asked , “What price the right to bear arms?”

Americans are called 'citizens', Brits are 'subjects'....that should clear it up.

Thanks, ArmyTeach I think we are getting to them check out this response from the MNdaily website comments section:

“kyleJ from Minneapolis writes:
“First of all: It is very weird that people from North Carolina, Colorado, Kansas, and Florida and are so thirsty and hopeless, looking for the news that read a local, campus-wide daily. With all respect and love for MNdaily, I can not believe this. I bet that a pro-gun blogger has left a link in his website and encouraged his readers to come and express their unanimously pro-gun opinions here. No problem. It is freedom of speech. But for your information, you are not the majority. Don’t let these comments deceive you. Just for example, look at (number 43 and 44):
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/polls/postpoll_100906.htm
You can also search in Google to find numerous other polls.
And just one point for ringo: one of these everyday, law-abiding citizens (according to the current criteria when he was buying the gun) who was carrying gun legally, turned out to be not very law-abiding. Don’t forget it.”

Keep em’ coming FReepers! Pointing out the facts to them on their “safe zone” forums gets under their thin skin and upsets their “bongo drum sessions”.

I’m glad I found a place to expose these “free minded people” for what they stand for, writing letters to the star tribune never works but the power of the blog bursts on through!

How come almost every time someone posts a picture of some lib writer they all have the same smug “I’m-smarter-than-you” expression on their ugly mug? Makes me want to slap their silly little face right off their head!
