(((((RUDY PING)))))
oh boy, more rudy pimping from deroy murdock!
funny, he doesn’t mention rudy’s support for the global warming agenda.
>These facts, however, pour yet another spade full of earth on the myth that Rudolph W. Giuliani is some sort of liberal.
I’ll see your spade full of Earth and raise you 2 dump trucks full of Earth (Guns & Dead Babies).
” Among 62 New York state residents who contracted West Nile encephalitis (brain swelling) that year, seven died. “
Why do you keep posting pro-liberal candidate propaganda on this conservative forum? Your efforts are not welcome.
Question: Do you believe there is a such thing as “global warming” and what about Governor Schwartzenegger’s position - do you support him in the legislation (unintelligible)
Rudy: I do. I do believe there’s global warming. Yes. And...and I...I think there are...I’m not a scientist all I can do is look at the reports. I think the last one said that...uh...ummm...fir-fir-first of all there’s definitely global warming as far as I can tell. I guess the big question has always been how much is it, how much of it is happening because of just natural climate changes and progressions and how much is happening because of human intervention - carbon in particular - and the overwhelming majority of the scientists believe that there’s significant human cause that’s making it more difficult, making it worse.
And I’ve always thought the debate was a little bit...uh...um...unnecessary because most of the things that are happening with global warming are happening with pollution and we should be, we should be dealing with pollution anyway. So, it seems to me there’s a community of interest here to do the things that are necessary to reduce polluting the environment.
Question: Have you seen “Inconvenient Truth” and there are some people that say that there aren’t a lot of solutions that are posed. You’ve basically condemned the movie.
Rudy: Oh, I didn’t condemn it. Condemn is a really bad...condemn...condemn...condemn is when you put somebody in jail or s...something like that. What I found...what I found indadequate...what I found inadequate about the movie wasit really didn’t have any (microphone problems - laughter) I thought this was a technology conference...Um...I didn’t think that it had any real strong suggestions about how, about how to deal with it. What...what...I would have been much more satisfied with that movie if it had listed, you know our...uh...what kind of research is going to be done on carbon sequestration, how are you gonna cuh...how are you gonna create clean coal. Is coal the way to go? How much are you going to increase ethanol and uh how much research and development and exactly how can that reduce the problem?
These are all things that we have to do. And we don’t do them because of the fluctuations very often of the price of gasoline. And we don’t do them because there are special interests that stop them and I did not detect in the movie the same zeal to take on those special interests as I did in explaining the problem.
Have you been appointed a moderator, Spiff?
What? A Flip-Flop? How Kerryesque.
And why are you on EVERY RUDY POST? You really must love him! My efforts are not for your benefit they are for the Rudy Ping list.
No, he is a particular type of liberal. One that goes in the guise of a conservative.
He’s a proud member of the RINO 3.
Member Opinion I'll go with Fred 71.4% 1,459 Other 12.6% 258 Undecided/pass 9.7% 198 I'm solid with Rudy 6.2% 127
There’s a hell of a lot more than three of them.
Very true!
I oppose liberals. That's what I do. I especially oppose liberals that are trying to hijack the Republican Party and whose propaganda is polluting this conservative website.
My efforts are not for your benefit they are for the Rudy Ping list.
Well, they certainly don't benefit the conservative mission of this website. In fact, they stand in opposition to that conservative mission. Look, you've already found a website where such pro-liberal candidate propaganda is welcome. May I suggest that you post it there instead?
LOL! NOW YOU KNOW I’m not leaving! ESPECIALLY if you say I should!
I didn't tell you to leave. I suggested that you post propaganda supporting liberal candidates in a more appropriate forum where such posting does not conflict with the intended purpose of the forum. Posting propaganda supporting a liberal candidate like Giuliani is the equivalent of posting similar propaganda supporting liberal candidates like Hillary or Obama. If this site was simply a pro-Republican website, and it didn't differentiate between liberal and conservative candidates, your constant propaganda postings in support of a liberal Republican candidate would be more appropriate. This site is a conservative forum, and as such propaganda supporting a liberal candidate OVER actual conservative candidates in the race really are not appropriate.
Answer:
1- Paid campaign worker.
2- DemonRAT mole.
Rudy may in fact be the Republican nominee for President, whether we like it or not. I think we should stay informed about him. I see alot of anti-Rudy things posted, I appreciate the occasional pro-Rudy post. I’ll have some tough thinking and soul-searching to do if he does win the nomination, and this information will help me considerably.
Why is this coming as such a shock to you? LOL! I’ve been posting Rudy threads since he first formed his exploratory committee. You are acting like this is the first time you’ve seen a Rudy thread. You’ve been on most of them.
I thought we were supposed to post crazy stuff here so we could talk about how crazy it is. Otherwise we’d hardly have anything ever posted here.
Neither. But I am in charge of the Rudy ping list and keep the Freepers who like Rudy informed.
Too bad for Rootee. Al Gore invented mosquitos and now Rootie has gone and sprayed them. That’s not very green of him, is it?
They can screech “liberal” all the way to the inauguration!
Why are you being such a girly man and choosing the word "Appropriate".
Wouldn't a fist in the air and a defiant shout of "not allowed under any circumstances" be more of a reflection of your attitude?
And we Thank You Very Much!!! :)
But, showing again his nasty streak, and his apparent need to personally attack anybody who suggests he is doing something wrong, EVEN if they were just poisoned by his anti-nile-virus policy, he attacked the woman's story because she apparently got the TIME wrong of when she was sprayed.
From the New York Times, September of 2000: Giuliani Questions Account of Spraying
Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani acknowledged yesterday that a woman had been treated at an emergency room on Monday after she complained of being sprayed with a pesticide used to kill mosquitoes that spread the West Nile virus. But the mayor said there was ''obviously a discrepancy'' between the city's spraying schedule and the woman's account of when she was sprayed.
...
spraying in the area where the incident is said to have occurred did not begin until shortly before midnight last Sunday, at least an hour after the woman said she was sprayed.
Rudy is one tough hombre, attacking a street artist who was incapacitated by bug spray because she was off by an hour.
All of this is irrelevant. Last time I checked, he was now a Kyoto supporter.
I remember when the city did the spraying THIS WOMAN WAS an Eviroweenie. Spraying occurred after midnight or really early before dawn.
We do indeed.
Of course, he now praises the progressiveism of Arnold in pursuing governmental environmenal agendas and also agrees global warming is human caused.
Deroy, how DO you drink all that Kool-Aid and still not have to run to the bathroom? You must have a bladder the size of a cantelope.
Earth Day?
Sounds like a good reason to go to the range!
I forget which one, but I’m quite sure Rooty put either one of his many X wives or girlfriends in charge of that.
With a big salary I might add.
But in fact, the West Nile Virus outbreak in the United States started in New York City in 1999, and spread FROM THERE to the rest of the country.
"West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus and human neuropathogen. Since the virus was recognized in New York City in 1999, it has spread rapidly across the United States, with human disease documented in 39 states and the District of Columbia. West Nile virus can cause a broad range of clinical syndromes, including fever, meningitis, encephalitis, and a flaccid paralysis characteristic of a poliomyelitis-like syndrome."
If Rudy had acted more quickly, maybe we would have stopped this thing before it got out of New York? I doubt it, but it makes as much sense as claiming that his reaction in 1999 was better than everybody else's, when he was the only mayor in 1999 who really had to do anything.
Further, I can find little evidence that any major metropolitan area refused to spray when they had an infection.
I know that we have had spraying in our country for some time, and while some environmentalists always complain, nobody takes them seriously when there is a serious medical problem.
Only a complete liberal would fail to treat for mosquitos in the face of this threat. Maybe that is why Deroy Murdock thinks it's such a big deal that Rudy did something, because it wasn't expected of him as a complete liberal?
Some links to "liberal" cities who had no problems with spraying when the New York City mosquito problem spread to their locations:
Chicago spraying Mosquitos to combat West Nile
San Diego County set to spray for West Nile
Prevention Key to attacking West Nile in Ohio
Sprays used in Mass. to combat West Nile(this is particularly pertinent, as this spraying was in Boston in July of 2000, which is the same time Rudy was supposedly the only mayor smart enough and strong enough to allow spraying in his city)
Philadelphia uses spray against West Nile Virus
I finally gave up searching for a "liberal city" that refused to spray for mosquitos when they had an actual outbreak of West Nile. I'll be interested to see if any Rudy supporters can find one.
There are a LOT of stories about groups fighting spraying, including a lawsuit that made it through the courts, but no cases where a major city gave in to the groups, or the groups won a court battle.
So I don't know where Deroy got the idea that a huge government program to spray for mosquitos was anathema to liberals, and proved Rudy was a conservative.
Yes. But since he admitted she was sprayed, what difference did it make what time it was? If he wanted to argue that she stood there and got sprayed on purpose, and he had evidence, at least that would be germaine to the discussion. But picking on what time of evening she was hit, when she was treated early monday morning, is petty.
Amazing. Rudy involuntarily and against their will sprays people with chemicals, and the RudyBots declare him a hero. Anywhere else in the country, he would be charged with assault. It just shows how he totally ignores the rights of others when he thinks he is right.
Its nothing but a bunch of NYC chicken little hysteria. If it were a real threat, I guess the rest of us would be dead by now!
Not that you and your ilk care a whit about the truth, but there it is regardless.
Actually those of us on the Rudy Ping List find these postings very helpful. The fact that they upset you as well is just a side benefit.
Have a nice day!
A day at the range, yes. If it warms up here, me too!
But before that, the tumblindice family will have it’s traditional Earth Day whale blubber bar-b-que.
Baby-back whale ribs—now that’s good eatin’, whale grease down your chin. Smack smack!
(We’ll buy some carbon credits first, of course.)
She was an idiot. Every NYer knew what those trucks looked like when you saw one you got out of the way. There were plenty of people looking to sue the city of NY.
Articles like this, and the rudy supporters reactions, remind so many of us why there are rudy supporters on this board.
You have been so conditioned by living in bastions of liberalism that you actually believe that Rudy is the only politician, liberal OR conservative, who has the guts to stand up to the liberals.
When in fact, as I pointed out, there was nothing particularly unique about Rudy’s response to the outbreak, OR of his response to the complaints about the spraying.
Boston, Mass. was spraying in July of 2000, when the mosquitoes first escaped New York and migrated there. Hardly evidence that they bickered about it, or had long meetings or took too long to attack the problem.
And Deroy is completely wet when he claims that the mosquitoes spread because others wouldn’t spray. The outbreak started IN NEW YORK CITY, and in spite of Rudy’s spraying in 1999, the mosquitoes spread to Boston and other northeastern cities in 2000. They all sprayed, and yet they spread more the next year, and the next, and the next.
The spraying was unable to stop the spread, or significantly alter the pattern of the disease. I’m sure it helped, but Rudy’s spraying didn’t stop anything, and the spread wasn’t because other mayors refused to spray.
In this case, Rudy reacted like just about every other mayor, liberal or conservative, reacted. It’s only people living in liberal New York that look at this as some great “conservative” stand.
Just like how you all think it’s so great that Rudy only let a thoroughly bloated budget grow by 2.6% instead of 5% or more like his predecessor, when a real conservative would have actually CUT the budget, and wouldn’t have left a mountain of debt for the next mayor to deal with. See, out in the real world we have to deal with economic upturns and downturns, and taxes, and providing government services. And somehow we manage to do so without growing our budgets (well, once in a while anyway), and when we only grow by inflation we don’t think we have acheived Nirvana.
Who cares that she was an idiot. I was just noting that he attacked her for getting the TIME wrong. If I knew an idiot was trying to screw the city, I think I’d focus on that, not making fun of her for not remembering exactly when it was she got blasted. His complaint looks petty and meanspirited, while a principled attack against her attempts to sue the city would be, well, principled.
The true facts about his views and about his standings in the Republican primaries is greatly appreciated.
Keep informing us FReepers!
Name another one.
Please stick to the topic of the thread, without gratuitous thread hijacking.
If you want to go by FR polls ( which the majority of FR's membership never participates in ), then Keyes would have been president; he wasn't.
