I hope you did not really mean what you said and just forgot your sarcasm notice.
JUstified? Not even close. I am in a situation where my ex is, as ALec says, a royal pain in the ass. At no time would I ever dream of speaking to my kids like that, regardless of the hurt. UNCALLED for, if I were the judge, he wouldn’t be allowed within 50 miles, no contact period. He makes most everyday asses look fantastic.

Apparently this little girl knows what most sane, thinking, rational adults (at least around here anyway) know's about her daddy.

You're right, there is none. I made the mistake of filtering it through a situation I'm going through. After hearing the tape, it's much more likely that the little girl is scared to death of her father and has good reason not to take his calls.

I didn't say he was justified, I said I understand the pain. His response to that pain was totally inappropriate.
I would respectfully suggest that Alec learn proportional responses (an issue with which he seems to struggle). If you’re a dad in his situation, you need to leave the door open, keep leaving messages that are kind and loving — no matter how long they are ignored — just leave the message that you care. EVENTUALLY, the kids get it. If Mom is being vindictive, you’ll have done all you can to put a wrench in the works. Oh, and never, ever forget how old they are — to a kid that hurts worse than any cussing out.
