We need to let the leftist know what the real meaning of the 2nd Amendment is and know what we really think of this contemptable little, socialist weasel, Jack Ohman.

Make everybody carry a gun and crazies like Cho wont come into a classroom with a bad attitude. The body count would be one and not thirty one.

All you have to do is change the gunmen to the founding fathers and put George Washington holding a flag in plac of Cho and you have a good cartoon.

The ironic thing is, had more not been done earlier to deal with the killer, his 2nd Amendment rights could have been infringed.

Cho wouldn't even walk into the classroom with his attitude, if he knew these young ladies would be there:

Actually he bought the firearm illegally. He should have been reported as mentally ill but a judge decided not to do it, in other words it would have shown up on the background check and he wouldn’t have been able to get the guns from a gun store. Since he was mentally ill he actually bought the guns illegally because he failed to report this to the seller(yeah, I know.)The chances are, however, that he would just have bought them from some illegal source.

Here's another cartoon. Notice that those protecting the security of a free state, is depicted as a bunch of suspender wearing oafs showing crack. The militia is Lee H Oswald. The people are a punk with a sub gun, and "shall not be infringed", is being announced by a paranoid schizophrenic.
The object of the attack is a free people and their law. The people are completely demonized. In the other cartoon, the Justices were portrayed as having been influenced by religious concepts and morality. I don't see that as a bad thing. In this cartoon, the people who defend their right are being portrayed as killers, and psychotics. When the Church is protrayed in such a fashion, you'll have a point.

MSM reporters to police: "The inevitable question parents will be asking is, 'How could this have been prevented...?'"
The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.
-- George WashingtonThe best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.
--Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188
To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.
-- Richard Henry Lee
[A]rms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. ... Horrid mischief would ensue were [the law-abiding] deprived the use of them.
-- Thomas Paine
It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family from criminals. If you rely on the government for protection, you are going to be at least disappointed and at worst injured or killed.
-- from A Message from the Sheriff on the back of a victims' rights pamphlet
by five-term San Miguel County Sheriff Bill Masters (L) of Telluride, Colorado
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms
disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes
Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
-- Thomas Jefferson, "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776,
quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764.

Your paper is a POS and liberal at that. The cartoon by Jack Ohman is an indication that you don’t care for OUR Bill of Rights and the US Constitution. I hope you go out of biz as all the MSM will eventually. Look south, 150 being cut by the LA rag Monday.

I shut up some gun grabbing lib the other day by sarcastically suggesting a compromise where African-Americans would be banned from owning firearms. Should makes sense to a liberal given that Blacks committ a disproportionate amount of gun crimes, with the victims being mostly other minorities. You’d think the the Brady folks would jump at such an opportunity to to take guns off the street.

The ironic thing is, had more not been done earlier to deal with the killer, his 2nd Amendment rights could have been infringed. The bizarre contradictions of leftist thinking never stop. Were the Second Ammendment in full effect on the V Tech campus, crazy-shooter-person Cho would not have made it past the local news.
- Gunman shoots students
- Left blames guns and 2nd Ammendment.
- Terrorists fly airplanes in WTC, Pentagon
- Left blames Bush, and the west in general.
Why doesn't the left fight to ban airplanes? Why does the Left blame Bush for everything, but not hold shooters as the direct responsibility party behind shootings?

The cartoon by Jack Ohman on 4/20 quoting the second amendment is disgusting. Those children may have been able to defend themselves if they could have been armed. There is no telling how many may have died needlessly because buffoons like your cartoonist have had their way.

Another irony, if one were to run the very same cartoon in
America's 1st Freedom or other fine NRA publications, the meaning taken from it would be much more fitting, "if you don't take the 2nd Ammendment seriously, you'll just be sheep for wolves like these."
The Left will never get it.
To: DCBryan1
Since in the Virginia Tech case we are dealing with so many people who were
disarmed and made helpless in the face of a violent criminal at the insistence of the school, the cartoon is absurdly off target.
What doesn't this cartoonist get? Cho was a deranged criminal -- does this cartoonist think that Cho would have obeyed *any* law? Passing laws disarming people only disarms the law-abiding, and grants a huge advantage to those who scoff at all laws. In this case, a mass murderer could freely wander into a "gun-free zone" and commit the most heinous crimes virtually unchallenged.

It’s amusing that the mainstream opinion is that arming students is a such an insane idea, yet when my older relatives were growing up, they used to take their rifles to school and keep them in their lockers so they could go target shooting/hunting after class. Yet no one shot 30 people. Guns were much present in every day American life in the old days, but mass random shootings are a recent phenoma, beginning with the wide media coverage of Charles Whitman.

I firmly believe that the by far the biggest element perpetuating these mass killings is the media coverage of the events themselves, closely followed by an entertainment culture thate celebrates violence and cruelty as entertainment.

I shut up some gun grabbing lib the other day by sarcastically suggesting a compromise where African-Americans would be banned from owning firearms. A good deal of early gun control was specifically aimed at disarming blacks in the south post reconstruction. Just as the Sullivan Act in NYC was partially a response to Jewish and Italian gangs moving on Irish gang turf.

I really don’t think we should get worked up about this kind of stuff. Electorally speaking, gun control is a dead issue. If you put on your waders and head to DU, you’ll find that even a large segment of the moonbat population is pro-2nd Amendment. If the Dems decide to run with this stuff it will only hurt them, i.e. help us.
