Rudy Turns Up the Heat
Rush Limbaugh's Web Site ^ | 4-26-2007 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 04/26/2007 5:12:05 AM PDT by Jake The Goose

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: All right, Rudy Giuliani. Let's go to the audio sound bites here. Rudy is turning up the heat, getting into some partisanship here, which is good, because there's a huge difference between Republicans and Democrats on the war. So say it! And Rudy did. He said, "We have to stay on offense. The Democrats want to put us back on defense." Yesterday in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the Rockingham County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a portion of Rudy's remarks.

the entire transcript from Rush's show

RUSH: Rudy Giuliani, setting himself apart from the field, at least with that appearance. Again, that was in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the Rockingham County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner. END TRANSCRIPT

>>>>>Any how dare you use Ronald Reagan’s name as association.

Reagan was a conservative and I support conservative candidates. You've been promoting Rudy the liberal for POTUS for many many months. Nuff said about that. Perhaps you should pay closer attention to the activity around FR these days. You're out of the conservative mainstream of this forum.

I would question that - mature? Being for a liberal on a conservative site is somewhat questionable as well. There are plenty of sites specifically set up for Republicans and for liberals. There are plenty of sites for the left wing log cabin type republicans who are trying to move the party to the left.

I would consider FR a conservative site in my personal opinion. So pushing hard for a liberal on a GOP ticket who aspouses no conservative core values should bring rebuke. Whining about that rebuke because the “GOP” is mature is really immature imo.

>>>>>Why are you talking to me?

You've been promoting and supporting the liberal Rudy Giuliani for many months. That is not in keeping with the goals of this conservative forum.

>>>>>If you don’t support Rudy - get out of the thread.

I don't think so.

Listen - that’s enough.

I won’t respond to you - please don’t respond to me.

Let’s respect each other another to stay out of each other’s way.

Signing you off now - good luck to your candidate of choice.

Support for liberals isn’t welcome around this forum. Btw, its always been that way. This is a conservative forum.

If you keep promoting Rudy Giuliani as you’ve been for months and months now, you’ll be hearing from other Freepers besides me.

Liberman feels the same way. Does that make Liberman a Republican? I doubt it.

Neither do Rudy’s comments make him a Republican either because his position on the COnstitution, strict interpretation of the same, abortion, the Second Amendment, sodomites and sodomitic unions, and illegal invaders is in step with that of the far left - not with the rest of us here, or with mainstream America or its traditional values.

I've been here since April of 1998. I know what this forum has always been about.

Are you saying that Rush Limbaugh's transcript of Giuliani's rather accurate attack on the Democrat Party and their appeasement of terrorists and terrorism isn't welcome at Free Republic?

Check this out:

“How many times must I say FR is a conservative site? We do not support abortionism, homosexualism, feminisim, environmentalism, gun control, liberalism, socialism, etc, etc, etc. When I say I suspect we will become even more conservative than we already are, possibly via attrition if nothing else, what do you think I’m referring to? When FR starts pushing hard and I mean hard against abortion, gay marriage, homosexual education forced on our school children, pandering to illegal aliens, gun control, McCaine-Feingold type usurpation, global warming, etc, etc, even if supported or advanced by the GOP, then I fully suspect certain types of moderate/liberal Republican supporters are probably going to be a little uncomfortable here. We will be fighting for traditional American conservatism no matter who we have to fight against and I’m afraid that’s going to piss off some folks.”

“It’s got to be a dilemma for him, given what’s been going on.”

I don’t think so. If Rudy’s the nominee, and it’s between him and Her Highness... well, what’s to think about?

At the risk of bringing down the wrath of the Rudy Derangement Bunch, I have a lot of respect for the guy, even though I disagree with his views on abortion and gay marriage 100%. I remember him when he went after organized crime in NYC, I remember when he cleaned up the city, I remember how much strength he showed after 9/11. What impressed me most about him, though, to be honest, is that he used to have a Friday radio show in WABC when he was Mayor when he took calls from people and listened to the problems they had with the bureaucracy and gave it to them straight - if he could help them, he knew just who to contact, and promised them he would, and if he couldn’t, he let them know that, too. No “say anything to make ‘em happy” politicial BS, or lies (uh, oh... at this point, some of you are no doubt turning red and saying: “Rudy’s a liberal! He does nothing but lie! Go back to DU, you’re the enemy! Arrrrggghhhh! ... Honey, where’d you put my raw steak...?”).

Would I prefer there was a whole-hearted conservative in there whose beliefs matched my own... and who actually had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning? Yes. Is that the situation? No.

I respectfully disagree. Early on, I argued that Bush's "new tone" was necessary and would produce the results you claim. In fact, what has happened is that a charge that goes un-responded to becomes, in the minds of the public, a VALID charge.

Respectfully you have misunderstood me. I did not say there should be no response to the incendiary attacks. I just said we should not respond in kind. A fight against the error is called for, but we should be better than the Dems.

The offensive strategy is good, but you don't have to get in the gutter to do that. That would be a losing strategy for a Republican, because unlike the Democrats, Republicans do care about how the political war is fought.

Cheney and Giuliani's recent responses to the Dems is just the kind of response that is needed. Compare their words with what is said about them. Cheney got up and noted how that the Democrats wanted to go on the defensive. That is factually correct. He did not call any of the Dems ugly names, or use any inflammatory rhetoric. Giuliani's remarks were very much like Cheney's.

In response the Democrats called Cheney an "attack dog," and falsely charged them with questioning the Democrats patriotism. What the Dems have to offer are insults (such as questioning the President's integrity, honesty, intelligence, etc.), but they offer little substantive argument. That works well for those who don't think, but it turns the rest of us away.

I agree that the President hasn't made his case as often as it seems necessary (but I think if he jumped up every time a Dem made a false charge, the Dems would make even more false charges, and the President would have little time for anything else), but I appreciate the fact that when the President and his men do make their defense, they do so on a higher level than the Democrats seem capable of doing.

Just another exclusionary member of the “conservative movement”

Rudy is the one who is exclusionary, He has been excluding conservative principles for years. He is the one who says if you don't like my position on abortion, don't vote for me.

I'd like a ruling from the boss.

I have not heard Jim Robinson say that positive comments or impressions are banned, or that people who post positive impressions should be banned, but Reagan Man says yes.

What's the deal?

Fair enough - don’t vote for him.

I have said on many occasions that I will NOT vote for John McCain.

I have never attacked anyone who says they will vote for him.

The party will be fine - build your movement - support your candidate of choice.

If the Republican party is truly “conservative” - RUDY is not a threat.

If the Republican party is truly “against Rudy” - he will lose.

Simple.

I sent Jim Robinson an email asking him just this question.

If I am banned from FR for my own views - I will miss it terribly.

I have met and engaged with some incredible people with incredible intellects on subjects from aviation, to fishing.

Incredible forum.

Bumps in the road of life - you know?
