O.K. Freepers; I know most of you watched the 'Rats one and a half hour debate tonight. What do you think was the most stupid remark any of them made? I'll start it off.
I thought Sen. Dodd's statement opposing drug testing for welfare recipients was utterly stupid. He said that drug addiction was an illness and a person should not have to give up their welfare because they are ill.
Gag me with a book of food stamps!
There was a debate?
LOL. That's tagline material.
How about “Good Evening?”
Hillary saying she supported military force in Afghanistan then realizing she supported the use of military force in Iraq also. It was clear she had nowhere to go with her comment.
Somebody call the FBI that there are 15 Al-Queda leaders debating the destruction of the United States.
Just a bunch of lying phonies.
It would take too much time to list them all!
My vote goes to Richardson who said that his first day in office he would have us out of Iraq by means of diplomacy.
Doesn’t he realize that most are on welfare BECAUSE of the drugs they are using? All of them spoke a lot but said NOTHING. Dodd was the only one that sounded half intelligent.
Was there even ONE lucid answer in the entire debate?
All of them?
But how will they get SSI after, if they’re not addicted?
That was funny. Richardson must think being president makes him a king and he can do stuff without Congress being in session.
Wasn’t interested.Wake me up when the Pub’s debate !!!
Can I guess? They’re against Bush... even though he’s not running. The war, even though they’ve already written it off. Their plans to protect this country and if attacked again, oops... nevermind.
Beat ya to it, Buddy ... (see post #8) .... LOL
Yeah. Biden told Kucinich and Gravel that they could do all the “happy talk” they wanted but sometimes force is necessary and it works.
I watched the whole thing. I want to “know” my enemy.
Edwards didn’t echo his wife’s sentiment that whites are “prettier” than blacks?
I don't think they should have a drug test for welfare recipients either.
I don't care whether you want to classify it as an illness or a vice.
It doesn't matter.
When people need food and or shelter we should provide it, and become holy rollers judging of who is or isn't good enough morally to receive help.
I donate money to homeless shelters and certainly hope they are helping drug addicts along with everybody else.
Does Dodd oppose drug testing for job applicants, too?
Why should I have to pee in a cup to get a job, if welfare queens don’t have to??
What Tancredo is to some conservatives Edwards is to many Liberals. He has done a good job of deciding who he wants to appeal to, namely the activist/ex-Dean/Democraticunderground gang. He could really become a spoiler to Hillary and Obama who know they have to win moderate votes after the convention. Edwards doesn’t care about that step. He just wants the nomination.
Every word out of Gravel’s mouth was gold. I have to send money to this guy’s campaign.
I actually watched some of it... This was a target rich environment for sound bites!
O.K. Freepers; I know most of you watched the 'Rats one and a half hour debate tonight.
First Democrat: “I hate George Bush!”
Next Democrat: “I hate George Bush more!”
Next Democrat: “I hate George Bush twice as much!”
First Democrat: “I hate George ten times as much as you!”
Next Democrat: “Fifty times!”
Next Democrat: “A hundred times!”
First Democrat: “Infinity!”
Next Democrat: “Infinity plus one!”
Next Democrat: “Infinity times infinity!”
First Democrat: “But I used to be the next President of the United States!”
Next Democrat: “But I’m black!”
Next Democrat: “ HAH! Well I was once the first woman President of the United States, married to the first black President!”
First and first next Democrat: “Crap!”
Other next Democrat: “AND I HATE GEORGE BUSH!”
so then you dont mind when they go into a store and use their welfare card to get money and use it to go buy more drugs?
The guy who asked the question said that he had to take a drug test to keep his job so why should welfare recipients not have to do the same to keep their welfare.
If you, other private citizens and faith-based organizations, want to support drug addicts; that’s your call. But, hard-working taxpayers shouldn’t be foreced to support their habit.
That is priceless. In otherwords, her tourniquet held quite nicely this evening.
I had to laugh when he blurted that one out!
LOL!! That was good!
NO PICTURES OFFERED, AS A GIFT TO FELLOW FREEPERS.
See my post #22.
Edwards: “I feel pretty, oh so pretty....”
Of course not, because when people need money for drugs, we should provide it for them. Because, like the great philospher of our time, Doctor Meatwad has said:
He needs it, and when you need something, that's a responsibility that only an adult of my maturity...Bunnies!!
/ Sarc, of course.
You gotta be kidding.
Welfare is a public service put in place to help people according to their needs, NOT personal abilities or qualifications to perform in some capicity as an employer has the right to require.
Tell me you don't know the difference.
OMG you are so right. He turned the entire debate into a freakshow.
Must've been:) Then again, anytime a Rat opens his/her mouth there is always some gem of a convoluted flub sound coming out of it .......
Hillary keeps on pushing this "air quality after 9/11" thing of hers, and all its doing is pi**ing off everyone in and around the city about her cold political opportunism. Those people went into Ground Zero knowing full well that it was a hazardous environment there, and they did so out of humanity ... something that Hillary knows nothing about and which she demonstrates daily.
Michael Savage has long advocated that Senators and Congressmen should all have to take random drug tests, since so many of them say things that are so crazy they sound like they’re on drugs. Also Rep. Patrick Kennedy with his bizarro “sleepdriving” crash due to multiple psycho-drugs in his system. How many of them are casting floor votes while high or with impaired judgement? Maybe it would be good to require they all have to pee in a cup within 5 minutes of every vote they cast.
However, I missed a response Richardson gave in regard to Alberto Gonzales.
My wife said, Richardson stated he was hesitant to call for the AGs removal because the AG is Hispanic.
I did not hear it, being away from the TV.
I would like to see if that actually what was said.
Can somebody clue me in on who “Gravel” is?
