"Personally I don’t think it makes sense to send him. He would be a gigantic target and would put every single man under his command under substantially greater risk.

So? Ask for volunteers...there are guys who like to get into it.

Every jihadi in Iraq would be after that unit.

It depends on the specifics of the British mission, but every day troops are going on patrols in an attempt get into it with the enemy. Plans using the Prince as bait should result in some significant successes (whether he is actually present or not). The return results on these fewer, focused patrols should be very favorable. They might even want to get a few volunteers to play him. The Brits and Harry are never going to ultimately make the History Channel by playing it safe. "No Guts, No Glory!" as they say.

I guess if his mum could be killed driving through the streets of Paris in a car, he’s better of taking on enemy killers and hopefully living to be a TRUE leader for the UK!

"I guess if his mum could be killed driving through the streets of Paris in a car."

You make an excellent point. There is a tendency, likely media driven ($$$), to focus on and enhance the danger of the unusual event, battle, asteroids, the super-volcano in Wyoming, etc., while ignoring the great danger in every day life.

Perhaps, he’s just gotten the better press as of late... Going to Iraq with your army unit (Harry) looks lots better in the press than going through a messy break-up/ being a jerk to your long time girlfriend (William).
