The disarming of America (mega-barf, fascism is here)
The Toledo Blade ^ | 4-95-07 | Dan Simpson

Posted on 04/27/2007 3:47:48 AM PDT by atomic conspiracy

Now, how would one disarm the American population? First of all, federal or state laws would need to make it a crime punishable by a $1,000 fine and one year in prison per weapon to possess a firearm......

The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty......

Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling, and empty building. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm. Clearly, since such sweeps could not take place all across the country at the same time. But fairly quickly there would begin to be gun-swept, gun-free areas where there should be no firearms. If there were, those carrying them would be subject to quick confiscation and prosecution. On the streets it would be a question of stop-and-search of anyone, even grandma with her walker, with the same penalties for "carrying."

You’d probably be surprised by the number of people in MA, even Democrats, who are armed and would fight this silly plan.

The most telling thing in his article is at the bottom

Dan Simpson, a retired diplomat, is a member of the editorial boards of The Blade and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

He is undoubtedly typical of his fellow members of the editorial board. This gives you a direct view into the mindset of media on gun owners and our rights. He and his accomplices are ready to unleash a new holocaust with gun owners as the victims. He just proves what I've been saying about anti-gunners for years. They do not listen to logic. You cannot reason with them. You cannot appease them short of total confiscation. They don't care about rights. They have no respect for our wishes - they only care about imposing their warped ideas on us. They never rest. They never change. There are only three possible outcomes

  1. They have their JBTs kill us
  2. We surrender our firearms and become the serfs that they want us to be
  3. We kill their JBTS and them.

The "retired Ambassador" is not only an enemy of Americans at home, he also toes the line on Leftist foreign policy by championing the positions of all our enemies abroad. Here's just two examples (of many found by an online search):

How much army does America want and need?

"America does have other uses for its armed forces. It is important to remember that when the National Guards of Louisiana and other Southern states were needed in the United States to respond to the Katrina disaster, many of them were in Iraq instead. The Reserves are just that - reserves, not permanently deployed forces. Their tours in Iraq get longer and the breaks between them shorter. The National Guard are national guards, not people to be used in overseas wars like Iraq."
- - clip - -
"Is it not the case that America has better uses for its resources - its people and its money - than sending more troops to Iraq to fight and die? If it does not, what exactly have we become?"

[ Better our military be used for everything but fighting our enemies ]

Dan Simpson: Double standards at the nuclear club

"India, Israel and Pakistan get a pass on their nukes, while Iran and North Korea are pariahs"
- - clip - -
"The only logic that would explain the contradictions is that the United States needs India, Pakistan and Israel, while Iran and North Korea conveniently fill the role of Bush administration enemies du jour. Funny way to run a railroad, particularly when the subject is responsible control of nuclear weapons."

[ Might as well let two avowed American enemies get the bomb, since we couldn't/wouldn't stop our friends from getting it. ]

Dan is advocating Nazi tactics where specific groups of people are demonized, rounded up and thrown in prison. Although people in certain areas would meekly submit, such as shown in New Orleans, I doubt that attitude would carry over to other areas of the country.

Dan needs to be rounded up and thrown in prison.

I question whether they could find enough law enforcement or military personnel willing to carry out such a program on a broad scale. They’d have to enlist proto-fascists like the more psychotic and violent DUmmies to get it done.

I cited NOLA and the DC Sniper examples above (where firearms were indeed seized in clear violation of Constitutional rights), but those were limited in scope and were shut down pretty quickly.

In NOLA, they got Granny’s 38 revolover, but even that was an embarrassing televised struggle with a 75-year old woman, and they never quite made it to a showdown with the seriously armed homeowner defense groups that sprung up all around the city. I think the results in those neigborhoods might have been less successful than in Granny’s kitchen.

So in the end who can imagine Dan Simpson and his leftist DUmmie ilk showing up at their doorstep in full battle SWAT rattle with Code Pink and PETA T-shirts underneath, pressing people at gunpoint to submit to an unwarranted search and seizure of their legal firearms? That dog don’t hunt.

I would be surprised big time if a vast majority in NYC or Boston didn't think this was a great idea. I was at a patriots day celebration in Concord in '96 or '97 (forgot exactly when) and there was a display of little die cast or maybe plastic toy muskets (about 3 inches long) in a store I was in and a little boy asked his mother for one. Not only did she not buy him one, but gave him a really nasty dressing down to the effect that guns were bad and he should never touch one.

As I remember there was an anti-gun billboard at the end of the Mass pike just as you came into Boston. I remember thinking how far these people have degenerated since 1776.

Don’t worry. This will never happen in our lifetime or our children’s lifetime. In our Grandchildren’s? Perhaps, depends on if our country tilts leftward.
