Tenet is a 'Rat and GW was wrong to trust him, period. I do think GW thought there could be genuine bi-partisanship on intel matters, as there once used to the on the Senate Intel Committee..... but we have seen how the Demagogues have trashed all idea of putting nation above party, of both parties working together to protect national security, etc. The 'Rats look to take dishonest, propagandistic shots at the Republicans whenever possible, the MSM enables and furthers this process, and Tenet is just following the usual 'Rat script. Your eloquent words bear repeating:

This comes as a surprise to people? This warning was being issued about al qaeda being in America since 1996-97 when a few retiring CIA and FBI folks wrote books and did the talk show circut.

But this latest “startling news” via Tenet is being spun out that Tenet directly blames Cheney for this...LOL...of course.

They often can’t trace it back to an individual. They have indicators and get traffic for example, but they can’t pinpoint it to a person.

The simple and obvious answer is politically incorrect. Truly implement boarder security and massively reform immigration policy.

Exactly so. And this is such a key point, it drives me crazy that the republican leadership--not to mention the citizenry--cannot grasp the importance of this simple, central point:

We. Have. Not. Been. Attacked.

The enemy has not given up. They've not lost interest or changed their goals. They've declared over and over both their unwavering desire and sworn intent to strike as at home on a scale equal to or worse than 9-11. That they haven't cannot be sheer luck.

If for no other reason than that one revelation by Tenet--al-qaeda is HERE--I hope Tenet's book gets tons of media play.
