John Edwards' “Two Americas”
SmallGovTimes.com ^ | May 2nd, 2007 | Steve Adcock, SmallGovTimes.com

John Edwards seemed to cherish the “Two Americas” idea in the run-up to the 2004 presidential election, where he and John Kerry eventually lost to current president George Bush. Strangely enough, the two Americas campaign buzzword managed to hit the nail squarely on the head.

Unfortunately, two Americas do exist in this country. One of those Americas supports the government while the other receives from the government. People from one America work for a living, pay taxes and serve as productive members of our society, and people from the other America enjoy the rewards of under achievement and the entitlement culture our federal government has so aptly built.

In a speech in 2003, Edwards so eloquently described the two Americas as, “One America that does the work, another America that reaps the reward. One America that pays the taxes, another America that gets the tax breaks. One America that will do anything to leave its children a better life, another America that never has to do a thing because its children are already set for life.” Indeed that is correct, John, precisely because of the insanely complex tax structure and entitlement class built by politicians such as yourself.

Mr. Edwards is correct. They are two Americas:

Where and how HE lives, and how and where the rest of US live.

Simple, huh?

“One America that does the work, another America that reaps the reward.”

Wow, Edwards is absolutely right!! Too bad he's aiming for the votes of the latter.

One America that is a straw man that libs cook up to warp the perception of what this great country is about, for the sole intent of manipulation of the electorate to put them in power.

How about:

1) Sharia-America, where any America-loving patriot will exist (not live) under the brutal oppression of Muslim-dominated U.S. governments

2) Liberal-Elite-America, where the liberals traded our sovereignty and liberty to the mad Arabs in exchange for cushy, privileged lifestyles.

People used to say that about Jack Kennedy.

During the West Virginia primary in 1960, Kennedy was approached by an old timer who said, “Mr. Kennedy, I hear you’ve haven’t worked a day in your life.”

Kennedy: “Why, yes, I guess that would be about right(or words to that effect).”

Old Timer: “Well, sir, you haven’t missed a damn thing!”

Yes he was...and he was for a very strong military...and he knews what good it would do to cut taxes.

Where in the world did THOSE Democrats go? The ones who used to love their country and fight for it?

Presidential Candidate Names Hero

Asked who he considered the most important influence on his life at a recent Democratic presidential candidate debate, former Senator John Edwards (D-N.C.) paused then named Vidal Sassoon, who Edwards said “taught me the importance of beauty. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t strive to promote that ideal by doing my own part in my own personal space. It’s a real ‘shot-in-the-arm each day when my campaign staff says to me ‘you’re looking good Senator.’ I feel pumped.”

Mr. Edwards:

I have spent weeks negotiating a haircut from my woman. I finally got her to cut it by buying milk on her turn. That’s $15 saved for mortgage principle.

The America I live in requires hard work, cost cutting, and saving. Which America do you and your kind live in?

There is something inherently funny about a politician who feels he understands poverty because he ate at a Wendy’s one time.

One America that does the work, another America that reaps the reward. They’re known as Democrats and their constituents, mainly poor and uneducated, who depend on the kindness of strangers, and the constant yammering of their protectors, like Edwards, who regularly engage in economic and legal blood-letting to serve their own selfish interests and thirst for power.
But, I digress....

Unless you count the occasional Zell Miller sighting on Fox News.

True story. I was in a restaurant with friends when the waitress complimented my hair....she added it looked just like hillary clinton’s........at that point you could hear a feather drop......the whole table stopped dead to see me react to THAT “compliment”. I looked her straight in the eye and after counting to ten, I said that I despised mrs clinton with every bone in my body......and that was the worst insult I had ever been given. The waitress backed off with apologies. LOL....she never mentioned the beast again.

I don't think my wife could have counted to ten. She may have taken her plate and made the waitress wear the food in her hair.
