Insurgents in Iraq are right to try to force US troops out of the country, a former British army commander has said.

Gen Sir Michael Rose also told the BBC's Newsnight programme that the US and the UK must "admit defeat" and stop fighting "a hopeless war" in Iraq.

You mean other than the 5 million dead people...

The left's ability to deny reality is without bounds. They can easily ignore the millions dead in Cambodia and elsewhere for one reason - they have no souls! As time has passed since 9/11 it is become more obvious that the left is out to purposefully destroy this Republic. The left is pure evil.

If we leave now we will end back in Iraq in 5 years. What is the point of leaving now?

“Sir Michael” is a monstrous moron. Far from any “similarities” between the Continental Army under Washington and the mass-murdering psychopaths of the jihad, all that is significant are the enormous DIFFERENCES of morality, tactics, and standards. This is as asinine as the bozos who tried to call terrorist Yassir Arafart the “George Washington” of Palestine. “Sir” Michael is just another charlatan of the left, whatever his military background happens to be.

Too bad he wasn’t a British general at the time of the American Revolution. They would have retreated after Lexington and Concord.

Shameful. Simply shameful.

What a blithering moron.

As far as I know, George Washington and his men did not advocate the slow beheading of live, innocent people just to intimidate Tories and other loyalists.

They did not blow up wagons with kegs of black powder at a marketplace killing all bystanders regardless of age, sex or political affiliation.

Morally bankrupt, cowardly Dickweed.

“His lack of European land warfare command and control experience, within a large, multi-national, high-level formation military and political framework was somewhat exposed in his Balkan posting. The contrast in the effectiveness of his appointment is generally accepted as being no better demonstrated with the performance of his successor within and without his headquarters in Bosnia, Lt Gen Rupert Smith”

... And communist rule spreading over hundreds of million of people over the next 5 years, in Africa and central America as well as Asia, until Reagan stepped in to stop it.

I think you should know during his tour in the Balkans Gen.Rose stated his admiration for the KLA and hinted that the Yugoslavs were no better than the Germans in WW2.More recently he has expressed some sympathy for the Checnyens in their “struggle” against the Russians.
I just think people like him are naive;they immediately stick up for the underdog, regardless of whether the said underdog is right or wrong.
