The anti-American, anti-Jewish rhetoric coming from the Hispanic separatist movement in the southwest U.S. threatens to spark a second civil war, says geopolitical analysts Jack Wheeler.
In a column on his intelligence website, To the Point, Wheeler covers the implication of a recent rally in Baldwin Park, Calif., where a small group of protesters demonstrated against a taxpayer-supported monument that celebrates the time before the white man came to California. Two inscriptions include: "This land was Mexican once, was Indian always, and is and will be again" and "It was better before they came."
"The rally was met by a far larger, violent counter-demonstration led by an organization of Mexican Nazis who call themselves Reconquistas," writes Wheeler. "These are people who want to 'reconquer' the entire American Southwest ceded to the U.S. in 1848 and have it become part of Mexico again. What makes them Nazis is their pathological anti-Semitism. Their hatred for America is equaled only by their hatred of Jews."
Continues Wheeler: "One of them yelled at a television cameraman at the Baldwin Park fracas: 'Too bad Osama Bin Laden didn't drop a hydrogen bomb on that Jewish s--thole town Manhattan.'
A corollary to Godwin’s Law is that 90% of the people who invoke it, as you have here, do so incorrectly.
“No need to fire him, just point out what a moron he is.”
His comparison is valid.
That said someone should give a head up to Lou Dobb,Goring was head of the Luftwaffe, Goebbels was the NAZI propaganda minister
How did I use it wrong? He’s comparing his opposition to Nazis. It’s close enough.
He compared there propaganda techniques to that of the Nazis (yes, he did have the wrong name). That’s not inaccurate.
Godwin’s law does NOT state that no comparison to the Nazis is ever valid on any subject or any person.
To quote Godwin himself: “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one”
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/2.10/godwin.if_pr.html
The reason he coined Godwin’s Law is that the overuse of Nazi analogies dilutes their impact when they are VALID. GRATUITOUS Nazi analogies are to be avoided. That doesn’t mean that NO analogy to the Nazis can ever be valid. Your version would remove a section of history from any discussion.
But, Goering was responsible for the Reichstag, and used propaganda to blame the commies and others.
Whatever
Pretty much all of Hitler’s inner circle were involved with propaganda at one point or another.
Your surrender is noted.
I’m off topic, but I wonder when the Mexicans are going to adopt the language of the Aztecs, and throw off the oppression of Spain?
I wonder if “family values” that don’t “stop at the Rio Grande” will suddenly involve human sacrifices on a massive scale?
If that “kiss my arse” remark was directed at BGHater, I think you’ve committed a major error of (mis) understanding. Even though he is a newbie, I don’t think you got his point.
I am still waiting for a moon bat to refer to me, a freedom lover, as a “Stalinist.” Funny, but they love the word “Nazi.” Of course, they have no idea of the origin of the word.
As one who lost family members in the Holocaust, I suppose I am able to say that the most unhonorable Mr. Aranoff should consider not playing the hate speech/anti-Semitic card when he is clearly attempting to aid the crimes of Mexicans illegally entering America.
For the non-Jewish FReepers, do try to remember that Liberal Jews are a sort of de facto communist, and that many of the NYC Jewish population is descended from Jews who came here with Marxist or Leninist oriented politics.
In all too many cases, Mommie WAS a Commie. Or grandmommie, etc.
In cases like Aranoff, suggesting that they read The Black Book of Communism sometimes helps them understand that after at least 100,000,000 deaths, Communism isn’t going to work. Well, rarely, but I have few better ideas. Alas, once a socialist, always a socialist. ;-(
Amercia is America, and Mexico is Mexico. Simply allowing the Mexican poor and illiterate to swamp America is no answer.
Gideon needs a life
True.
“But of course there are wonderful Nazis and Japs, and we dont mean to offend them with this depiction, would be insane.”
Kind of like the “Islam is a peaceful religion” and “Saudi Arabia is a staunch ally” drivel that comes from the White House today?
“Funny, but they love the word Nazi. Of course, they have no idea of the origin of the word.”
The only difference between the Nazi system and the Soviet one was the actual, formal, ownership of the means of production - as long as the “owners” obeyed their masters. Both killed people by the millions, too.
yeah, he is such a moron for exposing the mind screwing the pro illegal immigrant people use continuously. He was right as it is the same kind of play with words to try and manipulate and brainwash people. The degree of the mind screw was worse with the nazi’s but it’s the same technique of all mind screwers.
Oh no, feelings are getting hurt all over the place. No longer is the phrase “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me” recited in neighborhood arguments. Now people treat words as if they can break bones. What a sorry state.
Last time I heard, the term ‘Nazi’ can be freely used, and definitely as for a classification/style of propaganda which the Nazis subjected the whole world to (and not just the tactics they used to fool millions of Jews into stepping into those cattle cars).
Come to think of it, the Nazi’s played up the ‘victimization’ of Germany after WW1 to get what they wanted.....
Welcome to the brave new world of the “Imus Effect”.
