Ever since that late morning is Dealey Plaza Dallas Texas, November 22nd 1963, the soul of America has been tortured by lingering doubts about the official version of the murder of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The Chief Justice Earl Warren was appointed by Lyndon Baines Johnson to head the official investigation, the Warren Commission. After reviewing all the evidence, the Commission's final report named Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman responsible.
In 1966, the book, Six Seconds in Dallas, raised important questions pointing to evidence which indicated that there was more than one shooter. More than one shooter would indicate a conspiracy, so the next question would be "Who else was involved"...

LBJ was certainly capable of it. He was an extremely nasty man.
When he got into office he managed to lose the Vietnam War and finish the work FDR started toward bankrupting our economy.

Karl Rove engineered the feint candidacy of Eugene McCarthy, which ousted LBJ, and sent him to exile and early grave on a Texas Ranch. This set the stage for an eventual Bush 41 presidency.

I was in elementary school when it happened and I remember to this day for some strange reason that I was walking to school with my friend and we were talking about it and we decided that it was Johnson that order him killed.
I have no idea why all these years later I would even remember this but, it must have left a lasting impression on me.

There was a previous thread on this a week or so ago and it had comparison photos of the three tramps to the three supposed killers of which EHH was supposedly one of.
I recall that they have statements from the three real tramps and that's what they really were.
Of course, that's just what they want us to think!

OK, so I don’t remember.
If it was a conspiracy, the tracks have all been covered. If it wasn’t, there were no tracks to begin with.

I don’t lose any sleep over it either for the same reasons except, it would really piss me off at the government that by now, so many would have known and so many did so little.
It would make the last minutes of JFK and Kevin Costner’s closing statements be more true, then fiction.

In November 2003, the History Channel ran a week-long special on the JFK assassination. Each night examined the various theories. Most of them were too complicated and cock-eyed to have any credibility. Particularly "the CIA did it" theory. We've all seen how leaky and unreliable that agency is.
Then came the night on the "LBJ had it done" theory. Very simple and straightforward in covering motive, opportunity and execution. Very credible with the small number of people involved as well as their track record in helping LBJ's rise in Texas politics. Particular telling was when they interviewed LBJ's former mistress who once asked him about this theory. She said it was the only time she'd ever seen LBJ get angry at her and warned her in no uncertain terms to ever speak of it again.

I disagree that LBJ was in any way capable of it. LBJ was in his element making good-old-boy deals across a table and/or room, but was intimidated as hell by the White House advisors he found when he took office. He deferred to them almost completely on virtually everything since they all had Harvard and Yale degrees, and he figured they were smarter than he was.
A man like that doesn’t cook up a murder scheme.

I don't remember anyone saying Johnson did it other than my dad, who hated both JFK and LBJ. I do remember playing outside with some friends on my 7th birthday when my grandmother ran out to tell me "someone shot the guy who killed the president!" My friends and I said things like "all riiight!". So, in those days, most of us believed Oswald was the guy whodunnit.
I still do.

No, no, no. I was a youngster and I distinctly remember my Republican father saying he believed LBJ could definately “be capable” of having JFK killed. He added - “God help us with LBJ as our president— as if JFK wasn’t inept enough now we have LBJ and he is devious.” And I always listened to my daddy!
