Through this Operation Recruiter Appreciation I met a woman whose grandson is fighting cancer. He loves postcards, so I sent him one from D.C. She wrote me back saying he loved it and put it in his scrapbook. Unfortunately, of the family/ friends she asked, only one other person wrote him one. So I'm now respectfully requesting that you consider sending him one and mention Gathering of Eagles.
Zach is 12, and he just had an operation to get a tumor from behind his ear. The good news is the doctor thought it went very well. The bad news is he has another surgery on May 18th.

Why don’t you PM with your address and ask that everyone send a pre-posted card. Or a stamp on the side. You could put all the cards in one big envelope. With all the stamps, it would be looked at in the Post office but he would get them all in one big envelope.
Either way, get me the addy and he will get three from us and I’ll get with other homeschooling moms. He’ll be bombarded!

I bought one of those “shake it” flashlights today. Now I have to find a “Captain Underpants “ or some joke book to go with it...maybe a small blanket to hide under too.
How my kids liked to hide and read a book at night! Getting my Grandson to read is a constant battle. Last year it was 15 minutes of reading to earn a 45 minute swim session...it worked! What can I do this year? A chapter of the next Harry Potter book?

If you send a letter would you send a few stamps? I forgot to include them and sent 4-5 note cards for him to write to friends...Also forgot the postal increase! DUMB (note cards were cute though, turtles, bugs etc.)

you have me laughing at the thought of "captain underpants"!! the joke book, the flashlight, the blanket... cool! don't forget a NOTE explaining it!! the poor kid will think something else if you don't!! LOL
