FORT DIX, N.J. — Six men described by federal prosecutors as "Islamic militants" were arrested on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army post and "kill as many soldiers as possible," federal authorities said Tuesday.

White House spokesman Tony Snow said Tuesday there is "no direct evidence" that the men have ties to international terrorism

"If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law," said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the 2001 attacks. "But when the government says 'Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous.

"Don't equate actions with religion," he said.

Uh, sure. I'll take your word for it.

And so the politicians tell us that there is nothing to worry about. We should feel safe. There is no worldwide movement to cut all our heads off, or to eliminate all Christians and Jews, or to impose a totalitarian religious fundamentalist government on us by violence
We are supposed to believe that there should be no profiling. No mass expulsion of the proponents of the ideology of death and destruction.
And I don’t trust politicians.

Mohammed was a warlord.

Islamic theocracies exist around the world.

The entire muslim world prays to the Islamic Empire 5 times a day bowing to the Islamic supremacist (and muslim only) city of Mecca.

Jews cannot even enter the country of Saudi Arabia.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Sohail Mohammed.

This morning the FOX radio news indicated Yugoslavian Nationals where involved. Interesting since Yugoslavia was formally dissolved in 2003 and Albania is an independent state. Another way the Drive By’s are trying to cover for Islamic Terrorist.

"Don't equate actions with religion," he said.

What is Islam based on?

Mohammed went into "trances" and fits (like epileptic fits) when he was given the "word of God" and would shout out what he was told. These would be written down by his followers. This is the makeup of the Koran.

When Mohammed was just walking and talking and acting like "normal", his words and deeds were written down by his followers and this went into the Hadith. Now, acting "normal" for Mohammed was taking 12+ wives (including a 6 year old), taking slaves (including sex slaves), executing infidels, conducting raids for treasure, etc.

Now, this is where it gets complicated.

A large part of the words he spoke in trances were "taken back" by Mohammed. He determined them to be the work of the devil (thus they are called the "Satanic Verses" and these are the same verses that Mr. Salman Rushdie got in trouble for writing about).

Now, how Mohammed determined which verses were from God and which were from Satan I do not know.

Also, there were literally dozens of widely different versions of the Koran and Hadith floating around for several hundred years after Mohammed death until a Fatwah was decreed to destroy all but one version. Now, even Mohammed could not remember what he was told by God and forgot it (those are his words as written in the Hadith) so I do not know how the powers in charge decided which was the correct version.

Also according to the Hadith, Mohammed turned people into monkeys, you can determine a child's sex depending on whether the male or female has an orgasm first (that advice came directly from the Angel Gabriel), dogs and cats are evil and should be killed, that the devil lives in your nose at night (and how to get rid of him in the morning), chess is forbidden, muslims have one intestine while infidels have seven, don’t pray looking up or your eyes will be snatched away, that one wing of a fly is poison but the other is the cure, that drinking camel urine is good for you and I could go on.

And that Mohammed himself didn't even know if he was going to heaven. If even Mohammed doesn't know, what chance does the average muslim have?

And for some non-PC info, Mohammed was described as a white man.

Now, if you can bear it, to compare to the Gospels of New Testament.

Jesus was someone who lived a very humble life and was killed for basically saying he was a King and Son of God (blasphemy) by the powers in charge (Roman and Jewish). The government wanted Jesus destroyed and wanted his growing movement destroyed (as it threatened their power). If, after 3 days, the followers of Jesus proclaimed he has risen from the dead, (just as he predicted), and is truly our Savior, the High Officials would have wanted to destroy such a "myth." They could have easily done this by producing the dead body of Jesus and saying "Your Messiah is still dead and so is your movement" or producing many eye witnesses of the dead Jesus. But they couldn't.

The letters that make up the New Testament were written by the eye witnesses of the events of Jesus. They were written in just one generation when many other eye witnesses were still alive. They were written without collusion from other Apostles. Even if any of the Apostles wanted to "add" to the "myth" of Jesus, they would have done so in a very disjointed and easily detectable fashion. Yet, the main Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) that describe the life of Jesus are amazingly in harmony with one another and the small differences are consistent with what we would see today if four people witnessed a major event and wrote about the event apart from each other. The Gospels can be traced back to their sources and are basically unchanged from their originals.

The Bible is the most investigated historical document in the history of the world. It has been investigated by scientists, philosophers and archeologists using technology undreamed of when the Bible was written. It is been desperately tried to be "disproved" for over 2000 years, yet, the Bible still stands as the truth.

The stories of Jesus still make sense to us today. It may be because they are true, it may be because they are based in love or it may be because they were written to tell the people of the Word of God.

Regards,

2banana

Absolutely not -- except for the range, those GI's have no ammunition for their weapons. Such an attack would be devastating.

One of the charged conspirators, Serdar Tatar, was familiar with Fort Dix because his family owns a pizzeria nearby and he had delivered food there. Tatar allegedly obtained a map to the military base and provided it to his cohorts.

The wannabe jihadists often viewed terror training videos, clips featuring Osama bin Laden, and a tape containing the last will and testament of at least two of the 9/11 hijackers. They also viewed tapes depicting armed attacks on U.S. military personnel and erupted in laughter when one plotter noted that a Marine's arm was blown off in one such ambush.

The affidavit notes that the group recently trained at a firing range in the Poconos (where they rented a house in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania). In a conversation recorded last month by one FBI informant, alleged conspirator Dritan Duka spoke about the need for secrecy.: "I got five kids so I don't wanna go down," said Duka, who added that were he to be caught, people might think, "I'm a terrorist."

That was the policy when I was active as well. The purpose was to reduce deaths and injuries resulting from inadvertent weapon discharge. The military should now realize they are a target whether in Iraq or in the United States. They should organize quick reaction teams on each base to rapidly deal with a terrorist attack. Most bases are using civilian contractor security for the base.

How Did The Get Here? How Were They Stopped?
Posted by Hugh Hewitt | 9:31 AM

Some key questions in the aftermath of these arrests:

[Federal authorities have arrested six New Jersey men for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack against the Fort Dix military base, senior FBI officials have confirmed.

The plot, reported this morning by New York’s WNBC television and confirmed to the Washington Post by FBI officials, involved storming the base with automatic weapons and attempting to kill as many soldiers and other personnel as possible.]

Is it possible that they were contacted from abroad and that contact picked up under the surveillance program so detestable to the left?

It is possible that the interception of contacts from abroad had nothing to do with this prevention of a major terror attack, but if it had, would that matter to the critics of the Bush Administration?

“Yugoslavian Nationals” The media will go so far as to make fools of themselves to avoid putting the blame where it belongs. There is no Yugoslavia. Hasn’t been for a while. They think that a mind-numbed public which learned no Geography in school won’t have the foggiest notion of what Yugoslavia is.
This is no mistake. It’s deliberate.

I heard some followup coverage this morning. The employee killed was the intended target of the bomb. This was a hit not a terrorist act. If terrorism was the intent, the bomb would have been inside a casino not in the parking garage and set to explode only when the employee picked it up.

Have the police released the name of the victim yet?

As to your statement, "If terrorism was the intent, the bomb would have been inside a casino not in the parking garage and set to explode only when the employee picked it up," perhaps it was a "trial balloon" i.e. the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center (in the parking garage.)

The Vegas bomb was claimed to be an attempt to whack a hotel employee.

The fact that it took place at an Egyptian themed casino is not relevant - and remember, always remember, “There are no direct connections to international terrorism.”

The anthrax attacks were carried out by some lone wacko, The LAX El Al attack, the Salt Lake City mall shootings, the DC Sniper killings where all the work of a few frustrated individuals with “no direct connections to international terrorism.”

Other than a couple of incidents that took place in New York some years ago, and that are no longer discussed in the media, there have been no attacks in the United States where the attackers had any “direct connections to international terrorism.” Why if there was some link between these attacks and international terrorism we might have to start enforcing our immigration laws. We could even see people calling for a prohibition on the entry into the US of people from countries where a significant portion of the population want to kill large numbers of us. I mean, what could that lead to?

At the time, right after 9/11, when the Islamist shot people standing in line at the El Al counter at the end of the LA Airport, I almost put my shoe through the TV, when I heard Neal Cavuto state to the effect, "Calm down people, this has absolutely nothing to do with terrorism, Islamofacism, etc."

A homemade bomb left on the top of a car in a casino parking garage exploded, killing a man who tried to pick it up, authorities said.

The blast shortly after 4 a.m. Monday left a 12-inch (30-centimeter) hole in the man's car on the second floor of the garage behind the Luxor hotel-casino, authorities said. A woman who left the hotel-casino with the man was standing nearby but escaped injury.

The man, who had just finished his shift at a hot dog stand inside the casino, was considered to be the target, though police don't know why.

"This appears to have been a small device that was constructed in such a way to target a single individual victim," Deputy Police Chief Ted Moody said.

Police did not immediately identify the dead man or the uninjured woman.

I’m sick and f**king tired of “biting our tongues” on Islamic terrorism. Who the hell cares if they are tied to “international terrorism” or not? They are Islamists and are trying to kill us. What’s the common theme here? Quit skirting the issue Mr. President. Quit trying to tiptoe around calling radical Islam an “evil religion” much like the Soviet Union was an “evil empire.” They are at war with us but we’re not. We need to start treating it like a war or we will lose.

I’ve been a member of the armed forces, active and retired for about 60 years. During that time I have been on military installations worldwide. All were protected by armed security personnel. Base access was fairly easy. Combat zones are an obvious exception. Reports of these guys casing Ft Dix proves this. They could have inflicted heavy casualties if not exposed. The reasons are simple. First, There are many target rich places. Second, the general base personnel are not armed. If they do have weapons they usually do not have ammo. Even a Ft Bragg attack might work before heavily armed troops could respond. We are talking about a highly dedicated enemy on a suicide mission.

A side notes: three of these guys were illegal aliens. How about the border security issues? Also makes pro gun control arguments seem stupid. When even our armed forces are not armed on their own ground it gets scary.
