The Howard Dean-Kathleen Sebelius-Kansas tornado story has taken an interesting turn.

Scott Johnson at Power Line reported Saturday that attorneys representing the Democratic National Committee have sent a cease and desist letter to Free Republic due to a post at its website --snip-- As an interesting sidebar, the folks at Free Republic don't seem too concerned with Sandler's letter, for the post in question is still available.

The scary thing about this is that this kind of censoring of criticism with lawsuits and threats would be commonplace and a lot more serious if the Dems regained the WH - and had more control of the federal courts through judicial appointments.

All the more reason to do everything in our power to see to it that it that there will never be another 'Rat president in our lifetime!

I say file a counter suit back at em!
***There’s nothing stopping any particularly wealthy Freepers from doing exactly that. And then you know what? All this stuff becomes part of the court documents and the other side HAS to read it. Hah hah! That’s worth the price of admission right there.

Hey, DNC, my sources on the “airwaves” say that Howard Dean is in the same league as Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and John Tunney who have all met with the KGB at one time or another in order to further the anti-american agenda. Here’s a place to start:

Kennedy’s Comrade: Hunting a KGB Mole in the Democratic Party

Where’s my cease & desist order? I want to frame it.

I don’t see how someone can be legally liable for repeating what he hears on the air.

See the Powerline post.

Repeating a libel second hand is no defense, if you had reason to believe the libel false or if you act with reckless disregard for the truth. Coffee260 simply repeated what he heard (and a confirming email) and presented it "for what it was worth". FR has enough fact checkers to get to bottom of the matter if Dean and Siebelius have alternative explanations.

Seibelius representations about the state of the Kansas National Guard are so at variance with the facts that it naturally brings her motives into question.

So do all you Rudy bashes see how the left operates !

The real question is: Do all you Rudybots see what you will get if Rudy was to be nominated and elected. He won't be, but he is as left wing as hillary or any other dem and he will be implementing their agenda if he gets elected. You rudybots are too stupid to see it, or are liberals your self. Have a good day and don't cry to hard when Rudy loses.

Thanks for the post and link. Powerline goes even further there:
"We therefore associate ourselves with our reader's statements regarding Governor Dean and invite Mr. Sandler to sue us for defamation as he threatens to sue Free Republic. This is to put him and his client on notice, however, that we intend to seek our attorney's fees under federal law for the assertion of a frivolous claim if he does so."

Assuming that is true, what is Dean's gripe?

And that's the $64,000 question :)

In my mind, it is certain that some communication must have occurred. There would be not reason for the DNC to behave in such a fashion if there was nothing to hide.

How interesting that the DNC is reading FR. Hope they enjoy all that we’ve said about them.

The DNC can call Republicans everything in the book along with making unfounded accusations, lies, and distortions. In the Liberal book, that’s okay. According to the DNC, no one can criticize or say anything about Liberal traitors.

So do all you Rudy bashes see how the left operates !

I have never said anything negative or positive about Rudy on FR. I will support (with my vote) whoever the Republican nominee is. I WILL SAY NOW that Rudy WOULD NOT be at the top of my list.

That reminds me of a sneering Diane Sawyer interviewing President Bush before his last election. Every question had some venom in it, but the kicker was when she asked;

"Polls show that almost 1/2 of the country doesn't approve of the war in Iraq. So who's right, you or the American people"?

It always amazed me that he could keep his cool when some snide media Ho had him in for a hate session. He must know it makes their blood boil when they can't make him do anything but act cordial.
