Not sure about “Period of Three Kingdoms”. The Period of Warring States ended with the uniting of all of China under Ch’in (Qin, in pinyin) in 221 B.C.. Of course different historians may have different versions and designations

China came into being with the Qin dynasty. Prior to that, the landmass that became the Chinese empire was a lot like Europe prior to the Roman empire. Each kingdom had a different language and script. After the creation of the empire, the languages endured, but the script was made uniform on pain of death. The Three Kingdoms period came at the end of the Han dynasty, which was a four century period that followed the first several decade-long Chinese (Qin) dynasty. The interesting thing is that the Han empire lasted only four hundred years, in contrast to the thousand-year-old Roman empire, but the concept of China has lasted longer than the concept of Rome. Perhaps the yellow peoples of what is now China are simply bred to obedience.

Typical dim Presidential decision! Pulled out troops and 6 weeks later had to reoccupy South Korea... it was no cake walk!

Helping” them makes sense from a military perspective. They’re going to build them anyway. Might as well get an up close look at your future adversary. .....

You make a good point. After the Russians lost their navy to the Japanes in Tsushima Strait in 1904 there was a competition between UK and Germany to replace it. The British Secret Service, through its operative Sydney Reilly, conspired, against the wishes of the Royal Navy, to have the Germans win the competition. Their theory was that given Reilly's access to the Russian gov't and Navy the best technology improvements of Germany would be passed on to Britain quickly. I don't see the Red Cinese being that foolish.

It sounds like this dude Keating is making nice with America’s enemies so he can curry favor with the likes of Pelosi, Reid & Clinton. He probably figures when the “Hate America” group gets in, he’ll be in line for a big promotion.

Made a thread on a forum I’m a member of with a sizeable population of people from former Soviet Satellites.

They should get a kick out of reading it.

Their culture chooses Confucian values of politeness and obedience because that is what is required when so many live on so little arable land. Same in Japan.

Don’t forget telling them of the importance of arming ASM’s when performing high tempo ops.

Agreed.

Frankly...W should be immediately challenged on this nonsense. And his own words bounced off his thick noggin' "That don't don't make any sense."

New Yorkers live on very little arable land. How come they're so rude? Southerners live on a ton of arable land. Why are they so polite?

Besides, Chinese aren't polite - they're some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. What they are is obedient. They're arrogant towards their social inferiors (in a way I've never seen with non-Chinese) and slavishly servile with respect to their social superiors.
