Was that the guy that was on Glenn Beck’s Exposed global warming special?
Thought police got him.
“Anytime politics intrudes on science, science is degraded and society as a whole is the loser,” said H. Sterling Burnett.
Very true. This UW professor is just Al Gore and his ilk’s latest victim of PC. Times like this is why I agree with those who say liberalism (particularly with regards to GW) is a religion, even a cult.
Academic freedom is only for those who agree with the leftist line.

GREENIE WATCH
Ping me if you find one I've missed.
The next week, I had it on again (watching the spring storms). The talking heads were giving an ominous warning that El Ninos could affect the development of hurricanes, but there wasn’t any scientific evidence to make the connection.
[This from a profession that could not predict the exact temperature of any city 6 months from now. Yet they seem to have to problem predicting how things will be 50 years from now.]
I remember in the late 1950s some of those temps in the triple digits. It was not unusual. It was called summer.
Perhaps I’m forgetting someone, but I thought another fellow was from Oregon (standing behind a lectern which read OMSI - Oregon Museum of Science and Industry).
Classic Crappy Government at work!

In a letter written last week to the House Intelligence Committee, Michael McConnell, director of national intelligence, said it was "entirely appropriate" that the intelligence community prepare an assessment of the "geopolitical and security implications of global climate change." The question of whether the country's spy agencies, already burdened by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the global hunt for members of Al Qaeda,... |
Man, these eco-freaks are becoming as bad as the Clambake Operation
“Scientists have not reached a scientific conclusion yet, “
Say whot?! But, but....Algore and Sheryl “Brownbutt” Crow said the debate was over.
What gets me about this global warming business and Al Gore is that this is something that should be studied by scientists. Serious scientists use the scientific method to study phenomena. Yes there are some indications that weather has changed in some places. But there’s way too little evidence that it’s man made and that we need to take extreme measures.
So many factors contribute, some of which we have no control over. Maybe we can clean up exhaust from cars and emissions from power plants, but methane gas from cattle and eruptions of volcanoes are completely out of our hands. And changes in the solar radiation may be a factor too. How does Al Gore propose to deal with these non-manmade factors?

Probably he was doing something even more dangerous - endangering chances for future grants on climate studies.
Weather Channel... What's that?
I read somewhere not too long ago that the bosses at the Weather Channel gave orders to start propagandizing for global warming, and I’m sure the talking heads there are happy to do so.
I always say the same thing. The believers just dismiss my questions and come back with that “anthropomorphic warming” crap (I’m not sure that is it—it is BS whatever it is called).
Yes, yes the recorded temperatures have BEEN on the rise but the believers absolutely have no proof that will continue; especially in light of the fact that they do not know the cause. (Could it be that big ball of fire in the sky?)
Also I remind them that the last one hundred and fifty years is like a second in the life of the earth. Do these rubes feel a mosquito bite then conclude they are having a heart attack? That is how they are selling man made global warming.
Needs to sue them.
