No, it is different. It is referred to as the “Storm.”

I think it’s actually the Hague Accords not the Geneva Conventions that does not allow hollowpoints. But the Hague Accords also ban shotguns which the U.S. military uses anyway. I’m wondering if just a money issue in reality. Hollowpoints aren’t as cheap as ball ammo.

And I’ll take a .44 Magnum or .45 WinMag over a .357. Every time.

And I'll take a 45LC over either (not cowboy loads, standard 1400 fps) preferably shot from a Ruger Redhawk like this one (mine). Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Take a look at the Para .45 Carry. Very smooth DA.

You’re right — and with modern powders and firearms, you can get much better performance than historic levels in the 45LC.

GtG,

You have an Automag in 30 carbine! I’m jealous!.

I have always been a fan of the 30 carbine.

Yep. That's why I stipulated a Ruger so you could take advantage of the capabilities of the 45LC. I use 1400 fps 250grn rnfp in both my Redhawk and my Puma 454.

I get about 1700 fps from the 18" Puma.

Course if I want some real "thump" I load the Puma with 325grn 454 moving around 2100 fps.

Smith and Wesson hasn’t repudiated the deal because it’s a contract. They and the government would have to go back into negotiations and agree to do it. Fat chance.

The 15 round magazine probably doesn’t protrude out of the grip any more than a Glock or Springfield does. I’m a little surprised they mentioned the 10 round magazine since they were discussing the military.

I don’t know why someone posted polymer is easier than steel to clean. I would think the molding of polymer allows more pitting and mold flashing to allow dirt and grime to accumulate in certain nonvital areas.

I know steel can be around for a hundred years as long as it isn’t abused. I have an archery bow that has some plastic and rubber parts. All of those parts had to be replaced on the twenty year old bow. Most of my guns are twenty years old and more. I wonder how long a Glock can last?

All of our military weapons should be made by an American Company. I don’t care if the foreign company is in Georgia, USA.

I have an equal amount of .45 vs. 9MM’s. Sometimes the 9Kurtz I sometimes carry is better than nothing.

Being large handed, comfort is an issue

That's why a Glock doesn't feel comfortable to me, but a plain ol' 1911 .45 felt just right.
