Westboro Baptist Cult to Protest Jerry Falwell’s Funeral
Constitutionally Right ^ | 5/16/07 | CharlesS

Posted on 05/16/2007 7:43:24 PM PDT by CharlesS

Westboro Baptist Church is at it again, this time planning a protest of Jerry Falwell's funeral.

Westboro Baptist Church (WBC Chronicles - Since 1955) 3701 SW 12th St. Topeka, Kansas 66604 785-273-0325 GodHatesFags.com Religious Opinion and Bible Commentaw on Current Events Tuesday, May 15,2007 NEWS RELEASE
WBC to picket the funeral of Rev. Jerry Falwell - at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia -in religious protest and warning: "God is not mocked!,, Gal. 6:7. God Hates Fags! & Fag-Enablers! Ergo, God hates Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, and all such Arminian heretic preachers - from fundamentalist evangelicals to openly gay Episcopalians and pedophile Catholics - all of whom have created the Satanic Sodomite Zeitgeist wherein America has irreversibly gone the way of Sodom.

There is little doubt that Falwell split Hell wide open the instant he died. The evidence is compelling, overwhelming, and irrefragable. To wit:

  1. Falwell was a true Calvinistic Baptist when he was a young preacher in Springfield, Missouri; and sold his soul to Free-Willism (Arminianism) for lucre.

  2. Falwell bitterly and viciously attacked WBC because of WBC9s faithful Bible preaching - thereby committing the unpardonable sin - otherwise known as the sin gainst the Holy Ghost.

  3. Falwell warmly praised Christ-rejecting Jews, pedophile-condoning Catholics, money-grubbing compromisers, practicing fags like Mel White, and backsliders like Billy Graham and Robert Schuler, Etc. All for lucre - making him guilty of their sins.

It appears many liberals in this country have more in common with Fred Phelps and his cronies then they were aware. They both hated Jerry Falwell, and they will use his death as an opportunity to make a political statement.

I implore Mike Gallagher to not offer these people air time in exchange for cancelling their protest as he did in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech shootings.

Probably not to Falwell's wife, children, siblings, friends etc.

Oh I didn’t mean it that way. Clearly those funeral protests are tacky. But really you have to wonder if those Westboro people are even sane. What do they stand for? They couldn’t hurt their so-called causes more if they tried.

The Westboro “crew” may need to find the Jesus they claim to be speaking for, because right now, they don’t know him.

Arminianism is a school of soteriological thought in Protestant Christian theology founded by the Dutch theologian Jacobus Arminius. Its acceptance stretches through much of mainstream Protestantism. Due to the influence of John Wesley, Arminianism is perhaps most prominent in the Methodist movement.

Actually the “Arminians” are a little known itty bitty sub-group of the Armenians.

Whatever the unpardonable sin might be, I’m reasonably sure it isn’t attacking the loathsome Phelps and his “church.”

For everyone on this thread wondering what the hell Fred Phelps means by Arminianism, Wikipedia offers the following list of its main tenets:

“*Humans are naturally unable to make any effort towards salvation
*Salvation is possible by grace alone
*Works of human effort cannot cause or contribute to salvation
*God’s election is conditional on faith in Jesus
*Jesus’ atonement was for all people
*God allows his grace to be resisted by those unwilling to believe
*Salvation can be lost, as continued salvation is conditional upon continued faith”

Basically split off from Calvinism, and the Calvinists have resented it ever since - which is just these lefty moonbat Baptists’ excuse for protesting at his funeral, when their real intention is merely to stir shit up on the religious right.

I agree with the Arminians on every point listed, except the last. I believe that salvation is eternal. You can never lose it. I believe that you can choose to be saved, or to remain lost; but once you’re saved, you don’t have a choice on that issue. Once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. On that issue, I’m with the Calvinists.

Arminian is a doctrinal term. Very roughly speaking, it is the opposite of Calvinism.

riding with the PGR, I have seen the wbc 3 times. I have attended about 20 funerals since June.

when you see them with signs saying “Soldiers Die, God Laughs”, “Thanks God for IEDs”, etc., flags tied to their feet so they can stomp on them, and so forth, it is not so amusing.

the families and the unit members do not seem to find it funny either.

maybe you should do a few missions with the Patriot Guard and tell me how funny it is then.

I agree with them on all counts except for this last one:

*Salvation can be lost, as continued salvation is conditional upon continued faith”

Praise God the Bible proves otherwise:

John 6:37 ~ All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

John 6:39 ~ And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.

But then again, they'll be happy to know that last one is not true ~ besides, it seems to contradict with that first one!

No they aren’t. He’s nuts and he’s intimidated his large family to go along.

Death is always seen as “punishment” for enemies.

Problem is...everybody dies - even God’s favorites die.

Fred’s own days are numbered as are everybody’s.

Does Fred think he won’t be “punished” someday?
Will God have him live forever?

Very roughly speaking, it is the opposite of Calvinism.

Well, very roughly. Both agree that salvation is not thru good works--that it comes only thru the grace of God. They disagree on predestination. They are much closer to each other than they are, say, to Catholicism.

It's something else altogether. "Armenian" is an ethnic group from Anatolia; "Arminian" is a theological school named for its founder, Arminius, who took stands against John Calvin on the subject of free-will and salvation.
